CAS - Elite status?

I'm packing for my cruise and just found the updated 2016 Tier Benefits. I hadn't looked at it too close before, but to my surprise, first one I've ever seen with Elite! Everything before this ended with VIP (I'm just Golden).

The added benefits that I can see above VIP for Elite are: Tier up bonus points 50,000; 20% photo discount and the most interesting one- "Private home/hotel/airport transfers" for sailings of 3 days or longer.

It doesn't say the amount for Spa credit or Food. The undated list I had prior has 150 spa for Golden and 300 spa for VIP.

Very confusing, right? As we have been VIP for over three years now and have had $250 each for spa for 7 day cruises and $200 each for food and beverage...which does really nothing if you have the unlimited dining and beverage packages! AND we too were given the "latest" CAS benefits letter in our cabin which has NO reference to Elite Status! Oh well......guess we will find out on our next cruise what exactly is included!

Never heard of Elite level.

Sure you don't mean VIP?

Absolutely sure! We have been VIP for over three years now....and the Casino Host made a big deal out of presenting me with this new "Elite" card on the second to the last night of our cruise. It is NOT black ( trust me....we KNOW the VIP cards!) but is sort of copper colored and def says "Elite" status. Just funny as there was NOTHING in the CAS letters and info that we were provided in our cabin to indicate what exactly this means....IF ANYTHING! As the web site also only goes up to VIP.

Maybe I should call CAS to see about re-figuring my booked cruises! lol....but not sure that any additional discounts would apply.....but the thought of the transportation to and from the ship would be nice! As we only get that when booking the Garden Villa...and ONLY on the trip HOME!

It is not that big a deal....just wondered if anyone else had any ideas as to whether or not "Elite" meant anything. As even with VIP - I have still only managed to get that CHEAP stuff that they call champagne in the casino! lol

I would call for sure because you would miss out on a perk (the transportation) if you wait to ask onboard. Also, if you would not mind please post back what comes with that tier level.

Thank you

I always use the extra food money for a few bottles of wine on the last day, I always have the UBP so the 20% discount applies, I was able to get 3 bottles of wine for $7.00 out of pocket after the 20% and Golden tier credit of $100.00.

This trip I came home with 12 bottles (Birthday cruise so I had 5 bottles in my room when I got there) which made my brother & sister in law very happy as we are not wine drinkers and they watch my parrot when I cruise and after a week with him I can understand them wanting to drink :o
