My husband buys his professional cameras in St. Martin when given a choice. He buys Nikkon cameras and lenses and says that of the two authorized dealers in Phillipsberg that Boolchands tends to have better stock than the other dealer. He only buys from authorized dealers as he wants the warranty and a true Nikkon product.

Not even close, St Maarten all the way. However, if buying high end photo equipment one should do some homework and explore internet prices in the US. You also need to be aware that some of the top brand names sold on St Maarten (and other islands) are what is oft referred to as "Grey Market" merchandise. These are the real thing, but they are not authorized (by the manufacturer) for sales or distribution in the USA (and some other countries). This means that if you buy a Grey Market Canon or Nikon (in the Caribbean) it might not carry a factory warranty and/or get any support from the US-based repair centers. Some of these Grey Market items will carry a 3rd party warranty..for better or worse.

Does anyone know if Cartier is only in St Martin and not St Thomas and LV is only in St Thomas and not St Martin ?

The prices for LV in St.Thomas @Yacht Haven are the same as home, but without the tax and they have a nice selection of bags, luggage, belts and scarves. As a French brand you would think there would be a store in St. Martin, to date, I have not seen LV in St. Martin.

Don't know about Cartier.

Stores at Yacht Haven

How far is Yacht Haven from the cruise dock/Main Street? Is it walkable?

It is not on Main St.

If you have no mobility issues, it's walkable from the pier in Havensight, about a 10 min walk. Bear left getting off the ship, it's on your left hand side, follow the water, stay within the gate and look for signs Yacht Haven Grande. There will be tour guides on the pier, you can also ask them to direct you, it's pretty easy.

There is no LV in St Martin. The nearest one is in St Bart's. The LV is St Thomas is close to walk from the Wico dock.

I believe that Cartier is on Front Street in Phillipsburg.
