forward facing cabin

We had a forward facing cabin on Oasis, overlooking the helicopter landing area. It was a western itinerary from Fort Lauderdale to Cozumel and back. That is usually a calm itinerary unless you happen to have a hurricane nearby. Also, Oasis is such a large ship, we did not feel any seas at all.

I suggest you ask this question on the boards for the cruise line of Dream. Itinerary also matters. It will get a lot more views there.

Some of our family had a forward facing large Family Ocean View (8500) on RCI Radiance... two large rectangle windows and a wonderful forward view which included the helipad. Movement would depend on your itinerary and weather....We were on an inside passage northbound Alaska cruise...and it was like glass no movement at all.

Do you mean a cabin with a window/porthole facing forward? I didn't know there were any cabins like that - the shipbuilders like to keep the front end pointy to reduce wind resistance.

Most all ships have forward facing cabins. Just as the bridge faces forward, so will some cabins. It does not affect the aerodynamics of the ship.

We had 1 once, it was fine. Maybe a little more movement but no a big deal. The anchor made quite a racket 1 morning. On that ship it was priced the same as an inside, but had 2 large windows.

Small issues that actually weren't a big deal:

In the evenings the curtains had to be closed as the light created a problem with bridge navigation. There was also a deck just outside that was hardly used but we didn't forget it was there as people could walk by and look directly into the room!
