Taxi to Mr Sanchos

I keep seeing differing taxi prices from port to Mr. Sanchos. How much did you pay?

Depends on the number of passengers.

1-4 passengers $17

5 passengers $23

6-8 passengers $34

For 4 of us last time was $17 - I gave the guy a $20 each way.

Were there taxi’s available to return the pier throughout the day or did u have to call or work with the staff at Mr. Sanchos for a cab?

Cabs are usually waiting; if not the staff there will call for one when you are ready to leave.

There was always a line of taxis waiting to take guests back to the pier.

It also depends which DOCK you ship is at. Remember, Cozumel has 3 ports, charges are different at each dock.

BUT there is a huge sign, at the taxi stand, with the prices posted.

That sounds either very high (if in dollars) or very low (if in pesos).

The total amount? That would be unusual.

Have you tried the taxi union direct or one of the private drivers recommended on here, although they would be a more expensive option if you only want to go to Sanchos as they have a 3 hour minimum and you would be paying for waiting.

Is it a collapsible wheelchair in which case I wouldn’t think there would be a problem with ordinary van from dispatch? There are some adapted vans with lifts but not many so you may have to wait. I would be sure to arrange a return time in advance in that case.

Is Sanchos accessible, I have never been there?

They mentioned taxi union when I talked to Mr. Sancho's. The wheelchair is not collapsible. Mr. Sancho's says that they are handicap accessible, so we shall see. :)
