Checking your wine before you board

Does anyone know if they have been checking the amount of wine you are bringing on board in Ft. Lauderdale cruise port? Sometimes they check and sometimes they don't.

That would be my take as well. If you want to take a case of wine be prepared to pay corkage on it. If they don't charge you then you got lucky. If they do charge you then it's no more than should be expected.

They were checking on the Royal in December and the Ruby in February. On the Royal the desk was to the side after going through the scanners and I'm sure some folks just passed right by. On the Ruby it was right next to the scanners making it much more difficult to 'ignore' - especially when the staff at the scanner are directing you to the desk and making sure you stop.

They were checking when we boarded the Royal in February. When it went through the scanners, we were directed to the table and paid of all bottles more than the 2 allotted. No big deal as we expected it. Even with the cork fee it was cheaper to buy our own wine plus we had wine that they do not offer on the ship. We drink it on our balcony late in the afternoon.
