Giffgaff SIM card?

Hi, I will be in London for 4 days before boarding a cruise. I will have an unlocked mobile phone from the U.S. I was researching different SIM cards to purchase. Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with Giffgaff? It appears they use the same service as O2.

In London now and from what we have been told O2 And Vodafone seem to be the best.

I'm on GiffGaff and it's brilliant, no issues whatsoever. As it piggy backs on the O2 network it works just like an O2 SIM.

Thank you. I had read reviews and they weren't the best. I will do a bit more research on their service. Hoping to hear from others who have used that service.

My brother uses GiffGaff and sings their praises - simple with good network connection.

UK based : we use "3" PAYG on the 123 tariff, handy for the UK and quite a lot of europe and the US.

Might need to be active for a while before you can get the cheap roaming. but will be fine for the UK.

With 3 on PAYG, if you want to benefit from the cheap roaming, you must buy a bundle, then the elements within the bundle are "like at home".

When you top up that gives 150MB that works on feel at home enough for light data use. So you don't have to buy a bundle if that's all you need.

Thank you for the info on 3. That might work the best as they have an inexpensive bundle. I will check it out when I get to London.
