Drink Package for One Passenger

Leaving on the Brilliance in two weeks. This will be the first time I am considering purchasing the premium drink package. A fellow employee told me that unless each person in the cabin purchases the package that one alone cannot purchase it. I find this hard to believe. We are friends traveling together. Any truth to this??

Not true - if only one person in the cabin wishes to purchase a drinks package that is absolutely fine. I believe some other cruise lines do have this policy though.

Your fellow employee was correct a few years ago but Royal changed their policy and now allows each person to choose if they want a package or not.

Yes you can purchase your own. Its handy for us because my wife does not drink so it would be cost prohibitive to have to pay for any extra that won't get utilized.

I purchased a drink package on our April FOS cruise and my mother did not. No problems at all.

On some lines both must buy the package. Check your cruise line.
