Calico Jack's or Surfside for food and beach, but not huge drunk crowd

Recommended Posts

We will be in GC in 2 1/2 weeks and trying to plan out our trip. There are 4 of us - hubby, myself, 7 1/2 year old daughter, and 2 year old son. We want white sand, clear shallow water, food, drinks, and beach chairs. Is that too much to ask? We aren't big drinkers and would rather not be somewhere that we can't move around. What are your suggestions and please give detailed directions on the best way to get there?

Thanks so much!!!

We've never seen "drunks" there....some will have a beer with lunch...but that's about it! None of the beaches are deep/wide like here in the States...the beaches are very narrow, so they may feel more crowded than they actually are.

Right next to Calico Jack's is "Public Beach". PB has chairs and umbrella's for rent along with bathrooms and showers. PB is more laid back then CJ's and just a 3 minute walk for food and drinks. The taxi and bus dropoff is right across the street from PB.:)

Oh ! the beach is much wider at PB and less crowded. Have fun,we did !
