ms Noordam, the youngest of HAL's four Vista-class vessels, will make an early arrival in Juneau, AK, tomorrow, 29 JUN 16 at 1000 (10:00 am) local and scheduled to go port side alongside the Cruise Terminal (CT) dock. Her departure time is set for 2200 hrs. (10:00 pm) local

The action can be seen, and usually heard, at:

The three other cruise ships in port Wednesday are Star Princess going to the Alaska Juneau (AJ) dock (0630-1600), Crystal Serenity coming to the Alaska Steamship (AS) dock (0800-2200), and Star's fleet mate Ruby Princess, scheduled for the Franklin Street (FKL) dock (1230-2215)

Picture perfect view of the Star sailing in. And the reflection of marble sky is gorgeous. Thanks for the photo, Peter.

Soon after I snapped that capture the cam operator zoomed in so I was glad I took it when I took it. :)

We're on the Noordam in a couple of weeks. Wonder if she's still flying her RED flag?? Anyone heard anything recently? We are preparing with extra hand cleaners and our own salt and pepper. Any other Code Red hints for us?

Do they fly Bravo flag (red) for that? Bravo means "taking in or discharging or carrying dangerous goods.

As for staying healthy, the best advice is to wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. I don;t rely on hand sanitizers - not all of them kill viruses.

There she is...

A little too early to tell, but it looks like she's turning around. Once docked, the Noordam should show up in her bow camera.

Right now a closeup of the bow would be nice. There are no diving boards so the line throwers would be hanging over the front deck (as in the Prinsendam)

Noordam is still some distance away and has not entered the Gastineau Channel yet, I believe.

What do you mean dedicated deck? I see the theater, casino and other entertainment venues on Deck 6.

See the two large "cut outs" that contain/house her three tenders, two lifeboats and a fast rescue boat. HAL. for instance, has the boats housed above your head as you walk below them on LP or Prom Deck

Does size of the ship determine when they have wings that open up for docking maneuvers?

Are you talking about the platforms at the bow that come down for mooring? With HAL they're known as "dive boards"

Yes, in-hull lifeboat storage!
