Thoughts....

  • The crew are watching you for food as you exit the ship.
  • The crew watch for WMD's and ULU's when you board the ship.
  • sniffing can be found on certain exclusions that include sled dogs

Why is dog sniffing a concern?

Huh..... *sigh*......

I tend to not volunteer much personal information in public forums.... in the interest of wisdom...but....we have a member of our party with a fear of big dogs....these 'sniffers' tend to NEVER be poodles or dachshunds.....

*sigh*....

....and UGH!!

That's interesting....the last time we were in Cozumel, they were using German Shepherds...or dogs of similar size....

I have to say, it's hard to think of a Spaniel in that type of position, but hey....if it works, then great! :) :D

That "personal" information could really help the rest of us answer your question more accurately. But UGH I guess it's too much to ask for you to provide it up front. What's your reaction going to be if they actually do put a big dog at the checkpoint for your cruise - are you going to say we all lied to you?

No. Never seen this when exiting ships in Alaska.

On Princess, sometimes in Juneau, Libby Riddles maybe outside the ship with her dogs. Also, on Princess they bring puppies onboard to play with one day.

Ironically - I am someone who has had German Shepherds my entire life. I will take GS dogs over poodles that bark constantly. Sometimes the small dogs feel like they have to prove themselves.

I often see Beagles and Basset Hounds at airports for dog sniffers. One of the beagles got me once. It was a long time going through immigration.
