Waikiki Hotel suggestions pre hawaiian cruise

My suggestion would be the Park Shore Waikiki. It is an Aqua Hotel in a great location. Across the street from Kapiolani Park and Waikiki, with no high rise buildings to block the view. It also has an outdoor pool and pool deck with great views of Diamond Head. We have found great rates on the Aqua site and also discounthotelshawaii.com. The Aqua site often has a certain day in the week where reservations are 20% off. Cherie

There are a lot of reasonable hotels and condos on Kuhio Avenue, which runs parallel to Kalakaua Avenue, the main drag through Waikiki. Try to aim for the east side of Waikiki, towards the zoo. It will be less crowded and noisy.

Even if you are in a smaller hotel, the tour buses will direct you to a nearby pickup location.

I wouldn't worry about staying at a hotel where tours pick up from. Waikiki is very walkable and as mentioned, tour companies will stop at most major hotels and likely will be quite close to wherever you plan to stay.
