Renaissance Hotel Fort Lauderdale

Recommended Posts

Want to book the hotel for 2 days pre-cruise in November. Is there anything to do nearby - will not have a car. Also, is it in a fairly safe area?

Oasis of the Seas here I come!!

It is in a safe area full of tourists with lots of nearby restaurants and stores. Check out Fort Lauderdale's tourist website for info on attractions, restaurants and transportation: http://www.sunny.org. A favorite (and cheap) method of transportation is the sun trolley (http://www.suntrolley.com). More expensive - but a tourist destination in its own right - is the water taxi (http://www.watertaxi.com).

This is the closest hotel to the port entrance. You couldn't have picked a better location. Everything, and I mean everything, is around this hotel. :)

I loved the Renaissance when we stayed there years ago. I looked at it for February but it is a bit out of some of our partys' budget this year. Hotel prices have gone up every year.

You have made a great choice !!

The hotel sits on a busy street. You will need to leave there to see the beach area. Easy to do with the Sun trolley, local bus or cab if you aren't into walking longer distances..mile+ . Definitely get a pass for the water taxi too. Great way to see the intracoastal area as well as hit different restaurants.

If your ship is moored at pier 21 or 22 you can walk to the pier. ;)

I think you meant piers 2 and 4 (usually Princess) since they are closest to 17th street. Piers 21 and 22 are at the other end of the port.

OOh yes, sorry. :o Glad you corrected me. Yes, Princess Royal and Regal use those piers closest to 17th St. In January we saw a few folks dragging their bags to our ship at pier 2 right off Eisenhower.

I'm planning our July cruise right now, not in Ft l, and my head is scrambled.

LMTClub has a rate of 136.50 including taxes for our post cruise stay the Monday after Thanksgiving. Is this a good rate for the Renaissance for the end of November?

This is a GREAT RATE! I'd jump right on that.:)
