Baggage handling.... what a fiasco!

I expect my luggage might be handled like that......in fact, I'm often surprised that they're handled as well as they are most of the time.

 

I realize I should have stated that differently -- I don't expect baggage to be mishandled, but I don't consider dropping a suitcase into a box to be mishandling. Dropping it into the sea or allowing it to be run over would be mishandling, so would allowing it to bounce down the flight of stairs.....but having gravity help move the suitcases into the bin doesn't seem egregious to me.

Air Canada obviously thinks differently.

 

I don't have much time for people who think their luggage is going be treated with kid gloves, but this was unacceptable given that it appears to have come from sheer laziness.

My observations from watching this video is that from the reaction of the guy on the ground adding padding to the landing area leads me to believe this is a pretty common practice. Air Canada could provide a lift truck to aid the workers backs and knees as well. To me those are some pretty steep steps to be navigating with a heavy load.
