Differences between Carnival Spirit & Legend

I am hoping someone can help clear up a few questions I have...

Hubby & I went on our first cruise in October on Carnival Legend.

And we officially "Cruise addicts"!

At the moment I am eyeing a bargain cruise on Carnival Spirit for next year.

From what I have read, if we sail on Spirit, we will feel "at home", because the layout is much the same as Legend. I don't think that will be a problem.

But I am wondering whether the evening Stage Shows on Spirit, are the same shows as on Legend?

I am hoping it wouldn't be too much like "Groundhog Day"

Having sailed on three of the 4 Spirit class ships, I never felt I was on the same ship, with the different decor, shows, and all the things going on. But it was the Spirit I never sailed. However, seeing pictures, it was very sterile aesthetically.

The Legend was the classiest with the faux cherry wood decor.

Thank You, for your reply. :)....

But, my Initial MAIN QUESTION WAS...

IS NIGHTIME ENTERTAINMENT THE SAME on Carnival LEGEND & SPIRIT???

IN AUSTRALIA?????

Since you specifically asked about stage shows, it might be better to ask on the New Zealand/Australia thread. You might find more people who have done both ships in Australia. Edit....I see you did post there after I posted this.

I sailed both the Spirit (2012) and the Legend over to Sydney. The Spirit had the Vegas type production shows when I sailed her over in 2012. I'm not sure if that has changed since she has been in Australia. The Legend had the Playlist shows, which you probably saw. They both had the hypnotist, singers and a juggler/magic type show. The Spirit did not have the Hasbro game show in 2012.

Since I have been on the Spirit 7 times, It was very easy to find my way around the Legend. Also, the Spirit did not have Bonsai or Red Frog Pub, though that may have changed also. Easy enough to google deck plans and check.

You said you had a few questions. And although you are missing more than one question mark, I addressed your Groundhog Day scenario.

Are there really groundhogs down under?

Only ones that have emigrated illegally ;)

  • 1 month later...
IIRC Legend has the newer Playlist Productions. Singers, dancers and heavy reliance on video and flashing lights.

Spirit still has the old shows with the showband.

I would like to THANK EVERYONE, for their replies.

We have "bit the bullet" & booked a Cruise on Carnival Spirit.

The price was simply too good to pass up.

I am SURE we will have a great time :)
