Australian family Posted January 6, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted January 6, 2011 The website doesn't give the name of the ship, maybe they still have to finalise the booking with the cruiseline and then they will announce the name of the cruise ship. This is the information on the website about the ship: Cruise Ship Displaying Italian elegance offering comfort with wide open public spaces, modern facilities and a variety of cafes, restaurants and bars. With a total of 132 modern cabins with balcony and 649 outside and inside cabins, you will experience the truly stylish Italian décor that will ensure your cruise will be most comfortable and memorable. Enjoy endless choices by day and night, from the Irish Pub and Buddha Bar (two of the seven bars onboard), to the Internet Café or San Remo casino. With four restaurants to choose from, you can dine in style at Il Galeone or enjoy the fresh sea breeze in the outdoor La Terrazzo Buffet. If you are fond of the night life, try the Pasha Club disco or see a show at the beautiful Teatro San Carlo. Stay active in the Le Terme health club which over looks the sparkling blue sea. Take pleasure in the great outdoors as you jog around our track or swim laps in one of two pools. Meanwhile, the kids can enjoy mini-golf, our ship’s colourful play area and any number of exciting youth club activities. Experience the best of classic cruising as we visit the destinations you’ve always wanted to see. Kiwi Kruzer Posted January 6, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2011 Interesting cruise. Its far enough away for Princess Australia (or Carnival) to organise something like this, for Anzacs and their descendants . I am sure that if it was promoted they would have no trouble in filling it. Are you reading this Carnival Australia?

Bella cruiser Posted January 7, 2011 #17 Share Posted January 7, 2011 I saw this cruise last week and got quite excited because I have been waiting a long time to hear of MSC sailing out of Australia/New Zealand. I wonder if MSC have any more cruises planned for us.:) The cruise sounds fantastic, I always wanted to sail through the Suez canal. (I've been under it in a bus through the road tunnel but it's not quite the same). Jenny

The_Big_M Posted January 8, 2011 #20 Share Posted January 8, 2011 I saw this cruise last week and got quite excited because I have been waiting a long time to hear of MSC sailing out of Australia/New Zealand. I wonder if MSC have any more cruises planned for us.:) I was thinking that too, but keep in mind this is a charter, which means it can operate differently to a standard cruise. Still unsure what MSC's plans are, and I'd be surprised if they're willing to commit to their own scheduled deployment of that ship that far out. Billy and Charlie's Mum Posted January 8, 2011 #21 Share Posted January 8, 2011 10% deposit, refundable up to Oct 2012, after that??? You probably lose the lot if you cancel. Who knows what will be happening in over 4 years time! Around $2000 or more tied up for that length of time.... not me!
sanny Posted January 15, 2011 #22 Share Posted January 15, 2011 I dare say as 2015 draws closer, there will be many more of these cruises offered to Australians and New Zealanders. Might be best not to jump in too early.;)

mandyjl Posted March 23, 2011 #24 Share Posted March 23, 2011 We looked at this, and nearly booked as we are heading over to there for the 2015 dawn service one way or another, BUT, reading into it more closely, we discovered the ship is anchored of shore for the Dawn service and passengers watch from the 'comfort' of the ship. Since it is the main purpose of the cruise, its seems strange they are not taking passengers ashore for the main event. Other than that great itinerary and pretty good price too. regards Amanda
karmac Posted March 23, 2011 #25 Share Posted March 23, 2011 I received my brochure & dvd in the mail yesterday. I also got an email saying that all inside cabins are booked out. At this stage, the cheapest cabin available is $19,915:eek:
