Saw this on GoCCl and thought I would let everyone know....worth asking for.

Dear Travel Agents,

During the last couple of months since the Carnival Triumph fire, we’ve received an enormous show of support from our Past Guests. So many of them have called, emailed, Tweeted and posted on Facebook to demonstrate their confidence in Carnival. This has meant a lot to us and as a gesture of appreciation, we will be extending complimentary upgrades to them in the event a lower price becomes available after they book.

Please feel free to contact us if your client is a Past Guest and there is a rate adjustment on the category they purchased.

Sincerely,

Carnival Cruise Lines

Does this apply to those who have an upcoming cruise that is already paid in full? Just wondering.

I have my TA looking into it for us. I will let you know what she finds out....

Does this apply to any rate code? I have Easy Saver booked. My TA said I would have to cancel and rebook. Then my deposit would be on hold for a future cruise and I have to apply new deposit.

The difference in my fare is $470 from what I booked.

It sounds like your TA is misinformed. Tell her to check goccl. And get a new TA who is on top of things. ;)

My TA said to contact customer service (of the Ta company) and have them look into it because he was going to lunch.

After over an hour on the phone, my TA got us cabin upgrades. Moved to Deck 10 from 8. We had already paid everything.

Thanks for posting back. Were you also past final payment (I know it sounds silly, but some people DO pay in full before final payment)?

The reason I ask is because I spent over 30 minutes on hold with Carnival, only to find out they wouldn't give me an upgrade, because I was past final payment. With the current sale, the price for the highest available balcony is over $100.00 less than I am paying for my 8D, and I am a LOYAL Past Guest with Carnival (going on cruise # 22 with them). However, if I don't get some satisfaction, with everything that's going on, #22 will be my last.

If your category is sold out then I suspect you cannot get a price adjustment!

My category is sold out, ext aft for my May, S. Carib. trip on the Breeze. I booked Casino rate and got a good deal. I was wondering if there is any chance for upgrade or OBC? Don't yell! I get stressed. lol

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I did a 'mock booking' (since the Fare Viewer isn't working) ... and I ended up with the exact same pricing that my PVP got for us when we booked several weeks ago. Very excited to know that she really DID get me the best deal that she could for our upcoming cruise!

I am a home based TA and had 6 cabins booked paid in full. Got good upgrades on all... but was on the phone holding for at least 30 minutes and then took about an hour to get it all done. I had already gotten 140-180 on previous price drops. Yes if you are paid in full there is a possibility for good upgrades.
