Beach??

All beaches in Aruba are public. All below are accessible by public bus, with Boca Catalina, Catalina Cove and Arashi beach being the furthest from the port. Plan on a good hour for the latter. It will be less than that, it depends upon whether or not the bus has to stop at every stop.

Water at Eagle Beach and Palm Beach is rarely crystal clear with the exception of just after sunrise. Boat traffic from watersports operators churns up the sand reducing visibility. You will rarely find crystal clear water anywhere in Aruba as you would find in the Bahamas. For the best snorkeling head to Boca Catalina, Catalina Cove, Malmok or Arashi Beach. See below for additional snorkeling info.

The closest location to the cruise terminal, with the bonus, if you have small children, of an adjacent playground is Reflextions Beach Bar & Restaurant at Surfside Beach.

If you don't need watersports, I understand that there is a vendor renting chaises at the now closed former Westin. The vendor is using the beach palapas while the resort is closed and being renovated by the Riu. Not sure if there is any impact from construction noise.

Just a note about Reflextions. If your cab driver doesn't know the name, tell him/her Nikki Beach. The name has recently changed, and our cabbie seemed not to know the new name.

We were there in March. They have a deal for cruisers, $10 for chair and umbrella, with a free drink. Included use of showers, restrooms and their pool. Beach area is small and uncrowded. Enjoyed it!

You can always totally trust the information from Arubalisa! We've been to Aruba many times and have always found ANY information from her to be completely accurate and appreciate her time to help everyone. :)

We went to Eagle Beach from our April cruise, very nice beach, we were charged $14. for the taxi, we jumped on the bus returning ( $2. each) and it takes you right to the security entrance for cruise ships. We rented beach chairs for $15. dollars each and found out once on the beach that you do not get a cushion with that because they were only for hotel guests, wow, so you have your cruise ship beach towel and a chair with plastic straps, not comfortable.

Also, went to the beach bar to get a couple of beer, checked out the choices over the bar, and ordered,,,,,,,funny, over the bar they have regular beer bottle samples, you get served the smaller 7 oz. bottles (bit of a rip off) and they were just under $13. for two.

I'm not complaining but I guess it pays to be more informed about these things so that your not surprised.

We will be on the carnival liberty. Looking for a beach close to cruise terminal, restrooms, bar, chairs and floats. What do you suggest?

The island is not that big and all of the beaches listed above are relatively close.
