  1. Agree with @IndyKid 100%. I've found the best fares and fewest children during the shoulder season between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  2. My photo gallery app doesn't have any tools to black out information. I printed out the page of the brokerage statement that shows I own 100 shares, blacked out the account number with a marker, and took a photo with the phone's camera.
  3. I did back to back Christmas/New Year's cruises on Tauck, 16 days total. The fireworks in Rotterdam were spectacular. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
  4. @Daisigave a good explanation of how/why ship locations may change. You may go out walking and come back, only to find your ship has moved. Be sure to have the ship's or cruise director's phone number with you.
  5. @Chicagomom, in general, river cruising isn't that conducive to independent touring.
  6. @StLouisCruisers, yes, I'm on the Caribbean Princess in England. @Cruising-along, that's correct, app doesn't work onboard for dining room reservations. I found out last night I was supposed to book at home. How was I supposed to know that, and how do you know what's going on each day in order to know when you want to eat? Defeats the purpose of anytime dining, IMO.
  7. @laurap414, I don't think CC allows private messaging. I'll be doing a review when I get home, but basically their dining system stinks. Can't make reservations in the app or on the TV. I'm sailing solo and have to fight for a seat every night. Can only dine 7:30 pm or later. I don't feel welcome in the dining room.
  8. I'm on the Caribbean Princess right now. There are some real problems with this cruise, but I do like the International Cafe being open 24 hours a day, with coffee drinks and sandwiches, pastries, snacks, etc. available.
  9. How many priests are able to get away for long periods of time?
  10. Unless they've booked the entire ship, it's not a charter.
  11. Check out Uniworld and Tauck. I've sailed Uniworld with a low or no single supplement, and Tauck offers their lowest category of cabin with no supplement. Book early, as solo deals go quickly.
  12. Fewer crowds and fares tend to be a bit lower.
