As my heritage is Polish I have eaten a lot of Pierogi in my life.I love eating them too.

My granddaughter just ate her first meal in Poland .She ate Pierogi.

When we lived in Brooklyn we had a group of friends that we went to dinner with at least once a month.In 1990 people began to leave Brooklyn,most to NJ.We then began meeting in SI at a diner that we all liked .I cannot recall the name .A few years ago those that were physically able began going to lunch back in Brooklyn but in Bay Ridge and not Canarsie where we all lived.

They met at a diner that I never heard of:The Z Diner on Richmond Ave.I have been to places on Richmond Ave as recently as 2019 .

One of my daughters got together recently with friends who moved south,to NJ.They met at a Diner in Staten Island.

Three of my friends moved from NYC to SC.

The President of a company that I worked for once had a son who was a Harness Racing Driver primarily at Roosevelt Raceway and Yonkers Raceway.Occasionally he would ask me to place a bet for him at the nearby OTB.He often mentioned that I might want to bet on a horse that his son was driving that night.

I picked the horse that came in 15th.

In 50 plus years of cruising we never ordered Room Service

My mothers father brought her and one of her brothers to the US.He previously brought another daughter .He returned to Poland to be with his wife and other children.For some reason none of them came to the US to live.My father had two siblings who came on their own to the US as my father did when he was 17.Neither his parents or his other siblings ever came either.

May 5 is Yom HaShoah ,Holocaust Rememberance Day.Nancy Spielberg ,sister of Steven will be speaking at a LI Synagogue. I am going to be watching via Zoom.If I was physically able I would go in person .There will be survivors and family of survivors present.
