  1. we didnt make a standing request on mera 2 weeks ago. but when asked if we needed anything would try to remember what we needed. the only thing i really missed was towel animals but my guy was on his last week of work and didnt do any but i guess we should have asked. i think we got 3 candy boxes on the 6 day cruise. since there was a newspaper menu and it was my 1st MSC cruise i decided to get one. didnt see it till day 3 but he did surprise me with it on deck outside. the only issue was the inconsistency. since we didnt ask for treats i expected none but then when we got them i expected them everyday. ditto with newspaper which i only got 3 of. no biggie about that. i did it for the novelty anyway. but did enjoy reading it since i never read one anymore. also took days to bring our bottle of booze to the room but thankfully it was just to bring home anyway. when you saw them the butlers were very helpful. one who wasnt ours overheard us talking about a problem and put our snacks and drinks on a tray and carried them to the room for us. amazing service. the suite deck was very monitored and always great service. the best thing was the bfast and lunch buffet. great food and great service bringing the cooked food out to us. we skipped the restaurant for lunch most days. also NO reservations unlike coastal kitchen was sooo nice. as was totally free drinks in the fridge/room etc. you dont realize how not fun showing a card in Haven is until you dont have to show it. i did not like being in a 'normal' balcony size room but figured just try it out for my 1st trip on msc. the orientation of the closet and bathroom door is very awkward. but for over 1K less than my crown loft suite and getting drinks/butler and great suite deck it's well worth the trade off. we may go back to bermuda this fall even! even if you had a genie on an oasis ship they cant give you the private suite deck and no reservation YC restaurant nor the free drinks in the cabin. this are a huge value to us.
  2. i was on the MSC ship mentioned above. (see me waving? 🙂 ) I wanted to recommend that if anyone is adventurous you go to tom moores jungle. then eat at the swizzle inn and get nachos. in the jungle you simply follow every path and it usually leads to a great reward. caves with clear water, holes you can dive into, beautiful beaches, caves off the beach. we spent over 90 minutes in the jungle and it was so rewarding finding all the natural beauty there. it was virtually perfect weather. rare on any cruise. the 70 was a tad too hot for me but better than the heat of other months. Biggest dislike was the new ferry to st geo that non ncl folks have to take. much less desirable times. Also if you havent tried Yacht club i do recommend you try it at least once. free drink package, including anything you want in your room, free wifi and a butler and was much cheaper than my haven cruises. also a great breakfast and lunch buffet on the suite deck. if you like mini golf you have to try it next to the dockyard. sadly they didnt open for 30 min after opening time because someone forgot to unlock the gate. but it was fun once we got in.
  3. just had nachos a week ago at the swizzle and love the jungle to walk around. however note the new ferry schedule. the day we were there there's only one ferry back at 4pm so you need to be lined up early.
  4. were in bermuda last week of april. was hot and humid walking around tom moores jungle and up and down the hills of st geo. cant imagine being there in summer when it's more than 70 degrees. id say this was the best weather i ever had there. wouldnt mind a few degrees cooler. everything we saw was open so id say april is a great time of year. id def be back. also our ship was just 85 percent full so that was nice.
  5. take the bus to swizzle inn and walk down the hill to tom moores jungle. go down every path you find. incredible caves, blue water, rock formations, holes to swim in. just an incredible discovery journey. we spent at least 90 minutes exploring the jungle. if you love discovery and surprise this IS the thing to do. walking in those small caves is amazing then when youre done get nachos at swizzle inn...yum.
  6. if thats the pirate ship next to dockyards it was open last saturday when i walked by
  7. just got back saturday from bermuda. i wont go to st geo again because of the schedule. having everyone using he 4pm return ferry meant at least 30 to 45 min before it left you had to be in line. also it was chaos at the dockyard. i SAW on the boat they do have signs to post on the dock saying hamilton or st geo but they dont use them as a result people go to the boat, then have to turn around and it's just chaos on the ramp. or you get there and you have no clue where the thing is going because the thing cant always run on time. also chaos waiting in line to get in the visitors center as that line backs up to the ferry line. who planned this? if faced the other way would at least be space. also a worker tries to shove you all to the left, out of the way of the ramp while you are waiting for the ferry,. but then another worker on the boat tries to get you to do something else. then one couple in a wheel chair was behind me to get on after waiting a very long time and they had the free pass for NCL so the worker directed them there. hope they made it! unsure how often NCL runs. im sure the rest of what i didnt see in st geo is nice but when you take into account waiting in the hot sun (it was only 70 that day) you may as well take the ICE cold AC bus for the 1 hour ride back to hamilton. i cant imagine standing there in anything hotter.
  8. i love salsa too, wouldnt wanna leave. nachos are my 2nd addiction to chips.
  9. this forum as well as my TA confirmed MSC will not refund even OBC from a TA. so get them to refund via check to ensure you get it.
  10. for suites across cruise lines i can say prices only go up the closer to sailing. one extreme example is i booked the best suite on a royal ship for 1900 PP for 6 nites 18 months out. closer to the cruise the lower suites were going over 3K . so book early is a rule!
  11. on my first upcoming MSC cruise i used my long time TA. he did not complain about them per se but said they are 'different' . so something must be different vs other lines when he goes to book. that being said i will get a 500 dollar check from him after the cruise for my YC stay. after reading on this forum i had him confirm that MSC does NOT refund even TA OBC. even if other people have had them refund it, no way will i take that chance. every other cruise line has refunded my TA OBC with zero issues. so he's mailing me a check all that being said. i use a TA for every cruise.
  12. check out tom moores jungle with write ups on trip advisor. a bit of walking and exploring caves and different paths and looking at pretty water .
  13. their site is suspended. always wanted to play and going in a few weeks http://www.fungolf.bm/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi
  14. can i assume theres a mad dash for the st georges ferry 1st thing? im on msc and tuesday carnival is with us then next day joy arrives for a stint. can i assume there's just one ferry per time slot? i got conflicting results for trying to find ferry capacity. one site said 800 but maybe thats a new planned one? i reallly dont want to bus between hamilton to st geo but with the times getting back it may be required on a tuesday to return to ship later . still unsure what we are doing but perhaps 4 hours in st geo would be enough. still have to look into what we are doing
  15. i have no experience with this guy except to say he was SUPER nice and refunded my money after i got sick and couldnt make the dive https://www.hartleybermuda.com/wp/
