Multi story dining room and Playmakers make the ultra class a step above. 17 nights on Ovation and Quantum and they they are by far our least favorite of all Royal ships.
Vouchers were good at 270 cafe and in the Windjammer coffee bar. Crown lounge coffee machine has several good choices. This was last year on Ovation Alaska. We used our 10 vouchers per day for cocktails only, and most were used in the MDR and Vintages.
Technically there is a corkage fee if taken to the MDR. I have never heard or experienced anyone ever being charged. Many times we have taken a bottle of Champagne to MDR and are given a ice bucket but never a charge.
Coffee, wine, water, cans of soda, JR milkshakes, JR adult shakes, smoothies, cocktails. Anything up to $14.00 Vouchers good in MDR, showrooms and any bar with the exception being the Bionic Bar and sometimes possibly the Rising Tides bar.
They were asking about NYE. Rising Tides and Schooner is closed for reservations only from 9pm -1am, Seats at $1000 per person at Rising Tides and $600 for balcony at schooners, back of schooners has seats for $350.
That is breakeven at 7 drinks per day, easy to do. We use all ten vouchers per day, only for cocktails, and still have a bar tab at the end of the cruise. Last trip was 17 nights, hard to believe we had 170 cocktails and a small bar tab.
Wife and I are both in our 70s. Oasis Class has become our favorite and a 12/15 night transatlantic cruise is perfect. Recently sailed 17 nights on Ovation and Quantum, ships seemed way to small and boring.
