  1. Thank you for sharing. It's amazing how far places really are when we look at a map. We think it's a hop, skip, and a jump, but in actual fact, there is quite a distance between places! I do have one question, though. I love that you send your granddaughter a postcard from every port. After you (finally) found one, did you search out a post office to send it? I would imagine that that might be a problem at times. I'd love to start that tradition with a grand or two of mine. 🙂 Thanks again for sharing!
  2. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your trip and thank you for taking a few of your friends along with you. 😉
  3. I do that with my landline....from 10 to 6. It does flash if there is a call, so in an emergency, I can be reached. My cell phone I turn off, because DH has an alarm go off every 5 hours to remind me to test his blood sugar. Nothing worse that that screaming sound at 2 or 3 in the morning. 😂 On the ship, I tend to use my iPad.
  4. Have a wonderful flight and cruise! I'll be watching with anticipation for the thoughts of all those onboard! In the words of my favourite reality show host Phil Keoghan....Travel safe.
  5. Glad that all is well. And thank you for that last comment on your post. We have a Panama cruise booked for April, but the testing piece has me concerned-the timing and the rigmarole that goes with it-both getting to the embarkation (Florida!) and then flying home after disembarkation in Vancouver. (need to figure out if I'd need a test to fly from BC to ON after being out of the country) I still have a few months before final payment to make up my mind, but I am hesitant for that reason.
  6. I use any old card that I leave in my suitcase. These are usually just the last cruise/hotel I was at. You put it in the slot and the lights (and more importantly to DH the TV 😂) come on. When you go to leave, simply lift the card a bit (you'll feel the click) and it stays right in the slot, ready to push down and engage the lighting when you get back.
  7. Safe travels home. CC has been acting up for me, and won't let me react, but I've been following along! Thanks, again, for sharing.
  8. I was coming to say the same thing. My sister loves NCL "for the free drinks"and so when we travel with family it is usually with NCL. And we pay over $200 for the gratuity on the free drinks, whether we use it as much as others or not. Having it included with HAL is a bonus. I'm looking forward to wine at dinner, and some smoothies throughout the day. DH loves his soda, so I'll have to keep a running tab on what he is drinking so he doesn't go over the 15. 😉
  9. I enjoyed playing the time lapse on the space needle link. Thanks!
  10. My TA booked my April flights with Flight Ease this week. I know she called (she mentioned the waiting times) One leg of the home flight isn't on the public schedule yet, so fingers crossed it's a go!
  11. My condolences to the family. May the many happy memories be a blessing to you all.
  12. I wasn't able to log in, so tried the Already Booked--> Manage my Booking route. That worked. It spun for a few seconds before it locked in, but it worked. 10:15 pm EST Thursday.
  13. It took me a lot of trips to figure that out. 🤣 Now I do it every time!
  14. Good afternoon. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this thread. The family atmosphere is an oasis on the internet. Celebration of seniors happen every day we awake! I'm not a spumoni fan, but DH loves anything that looks, feels, seems like ice cream. Love the quote! I'm not a coconut fan, but I will make a "pina colada" with coconut rum, and skip the cream. It looks like it will be a very hot week coming up. Highs in the upper 20's/low 30's with humidex of mid to high 30's every day. No rest for the air conditioner, to be sure. Please stay well. Blessings to all!
  15. Thank you @Copper10-8 for taking us along with you on your trip. I was late at the one port but caught up now! A belated Happy Anniversary to you and your bride. @aliaschief I have enjoyed your perspective throughou as well. Safe travels home to everyone!
  16. UGH! I am still having trouble with Cruise Critic despite logging out and back in several times! At one point I was able to react to some posts, but not others. Even earlier today, I was able to react. But here, nope. In fact a whole post that I wrote yesterday(?) didn't actually post. Anyway, thanks for the Daily updates. Prayers for those that need them, Cheers for the celebrations, and Blessings to all.
  17. I'm sad about this because I spent many an hour doing the Microsoft lessons on various ships on sea days. I'm quite competent on the computer, but I always learned something! I do, however, realize that using shared computers at sea during a pandemic is probably not the wisest of things to do. 😉
  18. I'm here to follow along the third sailing of the NA. Thank you @Copper10-8 for taking time to let us live vicariously through your adventures.
  19. Thanks for taking us along @Brentt_M, I've enjoyed all the information that you gave, and to @liam1965 your take was appreciated as well. Safe trip home to everyone who disembarked today. And smooth sailing to those who just began their adventures.
  20. Good morning from sunny southwestern Ontario. Thanks to all who contribute to this thread. After keeping up with Linda's live report, watching some videos of the Disney magic in Liverpool, I am more than ready to get back to cruising. We are scheduled in April, so fingers crossed that it is a go! It is Civic Holiday here in Ontario. I think all the Canadian provinces got together and said....don't care what we call it, we need another summer holiday! It is on the backside of summer now because, although summer officially ends in September, Labour Day marks the back to school, back to routines, back to busyness of fall. Prayers for those who need them, whether they've asked or not. Cheers to all celebrating. And blessings to all!
  21. Well, I finally found this thread, and I'm all caught up. @Brentt_M my condolences to you and the kids on the death of your wife and their mom. Hopefully, this cruise will bring back happy memories, while making new ones. Thank you for taking us along on the ship!
  22. Thank you Lisa for taking us along on your voyage. It was fun to read your posts and follow along. I, too, hope that you do another LIVE post in a few weeks, and will look forward to any changes that have occurred as HAL gets its rudders in the right direction. I do have one small question...how big are the stickers/is the journal. Maybe I will go back and get my former trips in the right size to add to the journal....that is, if they continue to give them out at the end of a cruise. Safe travels to you and Tom. And thanks again!
  23. It looks like having breakfast in the room is not available on disembarkation day. That was always a nice relaxing way to start the (early!) day for us.
