    SS/SB

We were on the SB Quest in Jan/Feb this year. One night a party of 4 came in to the dining room. Three were dressed appropriately - one was in jean shorts, T-shirt and tennis shoes. I had seen them earlier in the cruise where all were dressed as required. I don't know why this one particular night the one gentleman didn't dress appropriately - maybe his stuff didn't come back from the laundry. He should have made the decision to not come to the dining room, or Seabourn should have said, "No". However, he was seated with his companions. Personally, it didn't make my dinner any less enjoyable, but I am a stickler for rules. Don't have em if you ain't gonna follow em.
  2. Bring items you can layer. You will have some cool days and evenings.
  3. I believe that was covered in Accounting 101, but thanks for the reminder.
  4. Okay - you have very fortunate clients. I thought one time you said you do multi million dollars in sales each year for Regent. Sounded like you were a TA. My mistake -
  5. I know - I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. With your position as CEO of a TA that sells Regent Cruises, you have a vested interest in not agreeing with posters who have been wronged by them. It seems you should be using your clout to help correct the wrongs, not help Regent excuse the wrongs.
  6. It's not easy to have 10X more life experiences with only 5X as much pay while working remotely. Where did you get your figures? I think I would like that job.
  7. A lack of empathy leads to a lack of understanding.
  8. By all means, hold on if you want to, but it doesn't require strong arms or hands.
  9. Just off the Quest. I never hung on to the ropes while in the zodiac. We were told to lean forward and put most of your weight on your feet and calves, so your momentum will carry you INTO the zodiac should you hit a big wave. Holding on to the ropes is just for a FEELING of security. It won't keep you in the zodiac should something happen.
  10. Also, it is not about the amount reimbursed - it is about ease and not having to worry about a hotel room and transfers.
  11. Regent should have had hotel rooms booked 2-3 years in advance. Regent knows their schedule that far out, why wait until 4 months out to try and book rooms. There is not a plethora of nice hotels and they know this. Very, very shoddy. And before people get upset with me criticizing Regent - I love Regent, so hearing this makes it even more troubling.
  12. I wonder if Regent is looking into acquiring an expedition ship, as that is all the rage. Do some of you who are in know, know?
  13. I know for a fact the earth is flat - just got back from Antarctica, and not one time did we go upside down. Also, I can never get rid of old quotes that I don't want posted - like the one above. Somebody is conspiring against me.
  14. From what you described, APT's alcohol policy would totally put me off of Seabourn's Pursuit and Venture, if they did institute the same. I would sure like to know the answer to that question.
  15. WOW - you were very lucky. Sometimes Customs is delayed and you can't even get off the boat until 8:30AM. I wouldn't risk it.
  16. Recommended dining in Singapore would take days to list - may I suggest, for a truly authentic experience, go to a food hall. A couple of recommendations: Lau Pa Sat and Maxwell Road. They are called Hawker Centers. For authentic Chili Crab, go to East Coast Park. There are several Chili Crab restaurants located there.
  17. Perhaps it was because we were in Antarctica/South Georgia/Falklands. If you weren't on a zodiac, you were on the ship. Maybe most people are off the ship during the day in Greece. So, destination probably has something to do with it.
  18. No - everyday. The only time we didn't go the DR for breakfast or lunch was if there was a conflict with our excursion of zodiac expedition. One lunch was cancelled because the majority of the passengers were going to be off the ship at lunch time.
  19. Yes, do the 3:15. Go to the lounge and relax - knowing you are not rushed.
  20. Just off the Quest. Breakfast and lunch in the Restaurant was available most days. Only time it was closed was when there was some special thing going on upstairs by the pool or at the Colonnade. Not very many people used the Restaurant at breakfast and lunch, but I do not like buffets, so I let the MD know as often as possible how much I enjoyed having it open, if only for a few of us.
  21. Is it April 9, 2024 or April 9, 2025? If 2025, then it is too early. If 2024, it could very well be that you have an included zodiac tour/landing at each stop.
  22. Good point. So I looked it up and I think youngsters would absolutely love doing this. I'm an oldster - if I saw I duck, I would probably say, "Oh look, someone hid a duck." And then I would go to the bar and have an adult beverage.
  23. Genuinely curious - what do you do if you find a duck? Keep it (no thanks), or hide it somewhere else - and then what? I don't understand the game.
  24. WOW - lucky you! I wonder if someone meant to pack it and forgot. I'd leave my husband behind before I would forget "the old widow."
