  1. We were in Montreal for the first time in July and also enjoyed it very much. I must say we are great minds because we ate at the same restaurants as you and agree that they were quite good. If you like Montreal, wait till you get to Quebec City, fabulous! Your review and pictures are great so far and I’ll be following along. We are on the same cruise in 2023 with the same ports. Bon voyage!
  2. We were on the Quest just before you were and it was a disappointment for us. We far prefer Regent for being all inclusive, better shorex, service, food, wine, cabins, and public venues … everything! We have an upcoming booking on the Mariner so this caught my eye. Why do you prefer Splendor so decisively over Mariner?
  3. This gave me a good laugh … when I read your original post, I was surprised that you were so pleased with cold soup 🤣 but reminded myself that everyone likes something different! I’m really enjoying your trip report, thank you.
  4. The forecast is not good this morning with Fiona. Are there any options available for this cruise itinerary? We were just there and it doesn’t seem like there’s much wiggle room.
  5. Looking forward to your report! We were in Montreal for the first time in July and liked it very much. Coincidentally, we also ate at Brasserie 701 and had the same impressions as you. Bon voyage!
  6. We took this pass on the Quest and you gain access to the locker room, sauna, steam room, and quiet lounge area.
  7. Bon Voyage, Fletcher. Looking forward to your live report!
  8. We were assigned the Mr C hotel in Coconut Grove for our February 8 cruise on the Splendor. Disappointing!
  9. I can’t help but agree with you. We spent 38 nights in an upgraded cabin so we spent a fortune. Of course there were bright spots and plusses but no one, not even seabourn, is denying the substandard service that we received.
  10. It’s good to hear that things are improving. We had heard rumors that a new chef was brought in and they definitely needed one. I’ve looked at the menus on the app a couple times recently and the writing of them is much improved.
  11. I had no idea that different hotels are assigned for the same sailing!! Has anyone else had this experience?
  12. You’re not kidding that the options look limited. Thanks for the helpful info and pictures.
  13. Yes, I think I know who you are … how nice to reconnect and please give our very best to your lovely daughter! The itinerary is very good on this sailing and we enjoyed the zodiac tours. Clearly, the ship was off its game during our trip and I can’t imagine they won’t be much improved in a year. Thanks for the good tips for Bordeaux 🍷
  14. Had Roast Goose on the Regent explorer last Christmas and it was delicious. If you like duck, you’ll probably like goose.
  15. If the busses go up, why don’t they come down? I’m not the best with heights so I’m hesitant about the cable car so more detail on that ride would be much appreciated. Are you overstating that the walk down should not be considered? Depending on the visuals of the cable car, dodging dumped donkey do might not be that bad for me 🤣 Santorini is one of the ports in our upcoming voyager cruise.
  16. We have just returned from our first Seabourn cruise and found it inferior to Regent on almost all counts. Your interest in doing your own excursions might be significant enough in terms of price but we would never opt for seabourn over regent. The food is so repetitive on Seabourn and it is over salted and under seasoned. They don’t offer the upper end selections like regent does. As far as lively, Seabourn is not and rather has a bit of a library vibe.
  17. Sending our very best wishes to your mom. We just had Covid, almost a month ago, on our seabourn cruise so we can sympathize. Your pictures and descriptions are fabulous. With many of those ports in our future, even better!
  18. Which ship is Ross playing the piano on these days? He’s one of our favorites!
  19. This is a great report, thank you for posting. We are holding a Middle East and Greek Isles cruise so this is very helpful! We are in complete agreement on the art and also think that the Riviera art is a stand out.
  20. We just put a hold on our first cruise on Voyager. While there isn’t a dedicated Pacific Rim restaurant, are there ever any of those great PR dishes served in Compass Rose? The duck and watermelon salad and the Korean lamb chops are always a favorite!
  21. Yes! Pizza in Italy is about the best thing on the planet.
  22. Both itineraries look great and I think the weather shouldn’t be a problem … think April in Paris! Small villages in France are some of our favorite ports but Croatia and Montenegro are absolutely spectacular. We like the best cabin available and it’s always worth it to get a quiet spot.
  23. If you read the thread, you will find the answers to all of your questions.
