  1. I’ve never used a shoe horn in my life, if shoes are that tight I have no interest in owning them. 😫
  2. Will do. Had dinner with her last night and had a great time.
  3. This is good information for those preparing to go. Got pictures of the vanity kit and shampoos?
  4. Just a couple of reports from the repeaters party. This is approximately the amounts as I didn’t write it down, and alcohol was involved but it’s close. Sioux, the OCA said there was about 375 first timers onboard. I would attribute this to the large number of alumni groups onboard. There are about 450 people between 2-5 cruises at the Blue level, around 100 something Bronze, with the balance being silver gold and platinum. There was one couple just hit President’ Club level. I was told it’s a really full ship with only 16 empty cabins. We’re at Oban today and finally have rain.
  5. It’s John Clelford, he’s British. Speaks very proper English.
  6. We have been coming in 3rd and a couple of times second, mostly by ourselves but occasionally with another couple. I’m ok with that score when it’s just the 2 of us.
  7. We so lucky to be able to travel to such beautiful and interesting places.
  8. I believe Elbig, and Pinot covered the idea perfectly.
  9. Jan, if I remember correctly it was rolled out prior to Covid but was scheduled to start sometime in 2020. Then there was the shutdown and the transfers started with the restart. My only experience with it was last week from LHR to Southampton and was very impressed. Excellent breakfast at the Sofitel hotel, a short wait, then a bus ride to the port
  10. If I talk to Wyatt I’ll let him know. Nothing new to report yet, we’re in Ullapool today and are planning to get off the ship after laundry. I wish we got Big O points for that. Weather is going to be in the upper 70’s and sunny ☀️ today. We’ve been so lucky with weather this cruise.
  11. Part of this seems to be a calculated case of pruning deadwood. Hopefully Oceania can replace that with new growth. So threats of “I’ll never sail them again “ might just be what they want.
  12. On Riviera it’s not on the hour by hour listings for the early one but is for the late one. Both are listed in the center insert with the sale stuff.
  13. Oops, meant subjective. Let me get back to you about Clelford.
  14. 15 pages and no has asked if the OBC can be used on anything other than excursions. Apparently no more taking the OBC option and buying a drink or paying tips. Not that there was ever any advantage to do it that way.
  15. You’re basing this on what?
  16. Last night we had dinner in Jacques, and it was wonderful. I had the goat cheese soufflé, always one of my favorites, and last night was one of the best I’ve had, followed by French onion soup that was only ok, then the Iberico pork chop that was a credit to its reputation. One table mate had the Dover sole and compared it to the Dover sole previously had in toscano and preferred the Jacques version. Dessert was a variety, I had Choux Chantilly Cream, my wife had Mille Feuille, table mates had the all time favorite Jacques Apple Tart with vanilla ice cream and finally pistachio crème brûlée. Everyone was quite happy. Service was excellent. We got there at 6:30 and left at 8:20 Just let me state that the reports of any degradation of Oceania’s food is completely counter to my current experience. This comes from 14 years of cruising with them. As we all know food taste is objective, this is my opinion and perception. Today is Kirkwall Orkney, we have a tour this afternoon and hope the sun comes out. Today is the first day that the weather has been the stereotypical Scottish weather, foggy and cool. At least I can wear the heavier shirt I brought today. Any questions about the Riviera feel fee to ask. I may or may not know the answer.
  17. In answer to your first question, no, it is no longer $20 a day per person, depending on what conditions you book under it will be at least $30 per day per person.
  18. I guess it depends on where that first digit falls on a scale of 1-9.
  19. Here is what is happening on Riviera, we have a large number of alumni groups onboard. At least two of our pre booked tours have been changed from a morning to afternoon and vice versa to accommodate the groups staying together. We weren’t asked, just informed of one once onboard and discovered another after looking at paperwork.
  20. By sideways I mean the tour wasn’t remotely as advertised, and they admitted it. Total snafu.
  21. No, we walked around and shopped, had some local fish and chips and then a beer.
  22. I’m on Riviera, and inside is definitely smaller than standard veranda. We were just in one in March and had more room everywhere. Remember, there was never a tub in the insides. 174 sq inside, 291 veranda, that would include balcony but that’s probably only 60 -75 sq
  23. FF what refund should I expect for a tour that I booked with Olife, qualifying for YWYW, that went sideways? Cost was $169. It was booked as one of the free ones. This wasn’t cancelled, just not the tour that was booked and DS acknowledges that and says we will be refunded.
