  1. So that started in Dec of 15. We were on a TA on Riviera when the Noro broke out. Bermuda wouldn’t let us port there so we went to Bahamas. It got progressively worse on each consecutive cruise. It eventually ran its course but as you know it was a real problem.
  2. Was this in Jan of 16 or Dec of 16?
  3. We were dining with a group at Jacques and someone asked if we could have our dessert delivered to the room. They took everyone's room number and delivered it around the requested time. We all wanted to hit the evening trivia and didn't have time to wait for dessert. First time I've ever done something like that. They came about 20 minutes later than requested. No big deal. Only thing I didn't like is there was no ice cream with my Jacques Favorite Apple Tart. Blasphemy.
  4. Are you sure you were on Nautica?
  5. Our cruise is the 20th. So about a month in advance for us.
  6. Are you back from your trip already. Just let me know.
  7. Yes, same for us with a book on Regatta. No personalization at all. I guess all that will be in the final documents.
  8. Just got documents for upcoming cruise. They have a nice blue folder everything goes in. 4 luggage tags that you can continue to use and an insert for your current cruise. They have a plastic tie to attach them with. We didn’t have these in January so it must be a new deal.
  9. Any idea how many people are on these bus tours?
  10. Ok, I'm not going argue with you. But that's a very outdated attitude toward food. There's good food all across the US. Truly, the edges don't have a monopoly. But you believe what you want to. Contrary to some opinions some of us in flyover country do know what good food tastes like. So no, it has nothing to do with putting up with what's available. That's a very condescending statement.
  11. Kid Charlemagne? Black Cow? Parker's Band? As long as they bring back the Boston Rag it sounds fine to me.
  12. There's a reason for that.
  13. You might be limiting yourself and missing out on some really good food.
  14. It's always been a 3 out of the 4 for us, but I do enjoy a lot of the dishes there.
  15. Which helps Bob how? While this is very similar to what we did it doesn't appear to be what he is asking about at all. FWIW, it sounds like he was given bogus information, or perhaps a language issue.
  16. I would suggest spending some time reading about the last 10 pages or so of this forum. This is what I've done when trying to find information about a cruise line I haven't been on before.
  17. This kinda of changed on Feb 28th of this year. If you upgrade before boarding then both parties have to take the upgrade. If you wait until onboard then just one can upgrade. Odd.
  18. You do know what Franck Garanger was doing before he went to EJ?
  19. Pretty much in agreement with your take on them. There were a couple more I really enjoyed also.
  20. This is a common theme on all the brands boards I've read over the years on CC. Conspiracy minded people will tell you it's the cruise lines that turn down the whole system at night to save money. Others will attribute it to one or more cabins in their section will be sleeping with their balcony door open to hear the ocean. I don't know the answer, I do know I've experienced it in certain rooms. We have a little portable clock that has a thermometer on it that gives us an accurate idea whether there is a problem or if it's us. FWIW, I don't think a new ship should have this problem, apparently your room does.
  21. Ok I have no opinion personally on Vista, I haven't been on it. I've read all the same things you have about it, but that's someone else's perspective. I've also read reports from people that really like Ember, and some reports from people that haven't had any noise issues. I've also read some reports from people that liked the theater room better than the O ships. When and if I actually cruise on Vista then I'll have an opinion on it.
  22. You talk so much about subjective and objective, yet you run your mouth about a ship you've never been on. What type of opinion would you call that? Oh, wait, uninformed, that's what it is. Reading about other people's opinion has nothing to do with the reality of what the ship's actual experience is.
  23. They have makeup for purchase in the boutique.
  24. Yes, but on a 10 day cruise that is a $30 savings. But I agree, when we do upgrade to the full package we wait until at least the third day or more. Second night is usually Captain's Welcome, free drinks for 3 hours, no need for a package that day, then a couple of days later is the repeaters party, and if you're like us you get invited to two of them, so free drinks those nights. Fill that in wine & beer at lunch and dinner and we're good. It seems like our days of the upgrade on Oceania are numbered.
