  1. You don't like apple pie? That's un-American. Oh wait...never mind. 😜 In that case you must hate March 14th...
  2. Did that "burger" in the American Diner taste as bad as it looked? YIKES!!
  3. I find it ironic that you Docked at Ward Cove and you flew on a Beaver plane. I guess there wasn't any way to work in June and Wally, or you'd have the whole Cleaver family.
  4. Two recommendations: Shane, bartender in the Martini bar. Best bartender we've ever had (and yes, that includes Chocolate Cowboy). Daniel, piano player. He's actually part of the Duo that performs in the lounges. But if you can catch him playing solo in the Atrium, don't miss it. I'll throw in a third recommendation. Stay out of the smoky casino.
  5. Not sure how asking a Carnival question on the NCL board will get you as many satisfactory answers as asking the question about Carnival on the Carnival board. Here's a link (for your convenience...) https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/133-carnival-cruise-lines/
  6. We've never done it, but if you search the board, you'll find a consensus that kind of resembles Nike's slogan. Although in this case, the revised slogan is, "Just (Don't) Do It".
  7. Not to mention the Veteran's discount (which is one key reason we stay with NCL). Also excursion discounts, etc. We have looked into MSC because they supposedly offer status matching. However, their "match" doesn't really seem to be a true match. Seems like more of a gimmick than anything. But what do I know? Plus, their pricing system is confusing (at least to an old codger like me) with all the levels.
  8. Good for you. Not so good for your loyal followers in steerage (the NCL board). We'll have to keep making the long, laborious (or is it labourious?) trek to the glamorous (or is it glamourous?) Princess board to keep up with your jaunts.
  9. Everyone knows the moon is made of green cheese. Looks like Princess spares no expense in importing cheese from outer space to keep its customers happy.
  10. I was thinking, "That's a really strange-looking cheese plate." Then I scrolled further down...
  11. We were in Rome pre-cruise for a couple days in 2022. Since we're not into history, museums, art, etc., here's what we did: Ate Drank Walked around Repeated the first three We had a great time. We're back in Rome pre-cruise again in September. Guess what we'll be doing (again).
  12. If you got the cabin you wanted at a price you were willing to pay, I'd say that's a decent price.
  13. @YVRteacher YIKES! I'd keep an eye out for that idiot from the previous cruise who bumped you at the buffet. Having him follow you onto the Regal would be the icing on the cake for this cruise from 'ell. By the way (and you probably know this)...there is virtually zero ginger in most ginger ale. Maybe search out some actual ginger (or even ginger candy) at your next port stop.
  14. I used to own a Buick Regal. That was many moons (and many cars) ago, but I don't recall it being very "regal". Here's hoping your Regal is "regal". indeed.
  15. We walked right on the ship when we embarked in Civitavecchia with two bottles of Limoncello in our carry-on. Nobody said a word. (NOTE: Limoncello is not wine).
  16. We had a comedian do a theater show on the Jade for our March cruise a couple months ago. Can't remember his name, but unlike most cruise ship "comedians", he was pretty good.
  17. Don't believe everything you read. The Jade is our favorite ship...food, crew, service...everything. (Well, except for the smoky casino).
  18. Since November, 2022 when our driver had us walk about five minutes to a remote lot. Maybe that was a one-off...but that's our experience.
  19. The drawback to a pre-arranged service is you have to walk to a somewhat remote lot. Not an issue unless you're mobility challenged or have lots of luggage.
  20. And people eat those nasty things in Le Bistro on NCL. (Where's the vomit emoji when I need it?) I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Who was the first person to watch a snail leaving a slime trail and said. "That looks mighty tasty"??
  21. Welcome to CC. We have the exact same itinerary. I think people will probably will say it doesn't matter. For the record, we're on starboard. We're usually still asleep when the ship arrives and eating dinner when the ship departs. Having said that...as we say on CC...YMMV.
  22. @cruiseny4life wears flip flops. @ChiefMateJRKdoesn't wear underwear...so he flips and flops as well. (Inside joke from "Seinfeld"...)
  23. I don't see any advantage in booking at the last minute. Booking early gets you your choice of cabin (if that's important to you...to most of us, it is). If the price drops, you can get the lower price. Plus, booking early lets you start scheduling excursions and planning everything related to the cruise in earnest. Win-Win all the way around.
  24. Say "Hi" to Frank Lloyd Wright for me...(inside joke that most won't get). That's okay, most people don't get most of my jokes.
