  1. "Should of" (I can't believe I even typed that non-existent phrase). One of my all-time most peevish peeves. Right up there with "irregardless" and '"all of the sudden". All of them are cringe-worthy.
  2. Epic tantrum? It would be more appropriate for him to have a Spirited tantrum...
  3. I find widgets are much cheaper at Widgets R Us. That's the only place I buy my widgets.
  4. The wings at the Local on the Prima in January were surprisingly good...after having wings at O'Sheahan's on the Escape in November which were surprisingly bad (or maybe not so surprisingly). One of the few positives about our Prima trip. As to the baked vs. fried debate, why can't NCL put an air fryer on every ship? Problem solved. Mrs. Schmoopie makes the most delightfully crispy wings in our air fryer. It's not rocket science.
  5. I don't recall our cabin on the Prima...it was six months ago and I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. I know it was a mid-ship balcony. As for other cabins, there are NUMEROUS postings about this issue on the NCL board. I'm sure someone (with a better memory than I have) will be able to provide their cabin number...assuming they see this.
  6. It will be interesting to hear reports from early Viva cruisers as to whether they had the incessant rattling of their cabin walls that many (including us) experienced on the Prima. That alone would make us think twice before scheduling the Viva.
  7. I'd like to be a fly on the wall of the NCL reservation center (if such a place even exists) when the calls start pouring in to cancel this cruise from people who had their hearts set on Ireland.
  8. I missed the part in the NCL email that said, "for your convenience"...
  9. We were on the Prima for a Caribbean cruise. The weather wasn't an issue...but the ship was. Just sayin'...
  10. That would be a book about Prague. Oh wait, that would be a Czech book. Never mind...
  11. Based on reviews of sister ship Prima, you might want to rethink the Viva. (Yes, we've been on the Prima and no, we don't recommend it.) But as they say on CC...YMMV.
  12. Technically, this can be done in any bathroom...😁
  13. The best chance of finding decent beer on a ship that doesn't have a District is to head for a local bar at a port of call. Being a beer snob, the basic selection on NCL is a joke.
  14. Mrs. Schmoopie has it stashed away someplace. I'll try to locate it...especially now that I really want some.
  15. The spicy shrimp appetizer in Palomar has been on my mind since we had it in January. It was so good, we asked for the recipe and it appeared in our cabin the next day. Haven't tried making it home yet...but it just might be on the menu sometime soon. Honorable mention to the apple tart with ice cream in one of the specialty restaurants (can't remember which one). Unlike the name of the restaurant, the tart was memorable.
  16. It can be argued that many on CC are a bit loopy, even without anesthesia...present company included.
  17. The last time we signed up for a Meet and Greet we showed up at the appointed place at 2:00 pm. Absolutely nobody was there...we were shocked and appalled. Then, when I checked the schedule I noticed that the event was scheduled for 12:00 pm. Oops...
  18. Mrs. Schmoopie claims that her husband "whines around the world".
  19. I believe you meant to say 120 days. Earlier would be for higher Latitudes levels.
  20. If so, upon meeting him, you need to do your best Seinfeld impression and say, "Hello, Nooman"...
  21. They will reinstate the certificate to your account in a couple of days. Never have seen NCL give cash back in lieu of a certificate reinstatement.
  22. This is our go-to happy place on the Escape. It's usually not crowded, especially when it first opens.
  23. That's one of the huge advantages to booking with NCL. Other cruise lines (Carnival, etc.) have non-refundable deposits...or they will give you a FCC for your deposit minus an "administrative fee"...whatever that is. We recently canceled a Carnival cruise that had a $100 deposit. They charged $50 p/p as an administrative fee, which ate up our entire deposit.
  24. If you cancel now...no penalty. Simple.
