  1. Just got back from the first ship into Vancouver and grabbed the latest rates. $15 for large $10 for small Items should be retrieved by 4:30pm.
  2. I just got back from the first ship Into Vancouver last week and checked on the luggage storage at the terminal. $15 for large $10 for small Bags should be removed retrieved by 4:30pm.
  3. Hopefully you are not staying a Friday or Saturday night when the bar next door is operating late into the night. The music and bass travels through a lot of hotel rooms til like 2am.
  4. Some additional places to research along nearby Broadway just outside of downtown... Dynasty on Broadway that serves Cantonese Dim Sum instead of Dinesty's XLB's. Regal Mansion across from city hall the new Seaport City that opened above Whole Paycheck (former Milestone) has been an incredible hit on quality to everyone I have taken there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L72anEu2lfc Reservations STRONGLY recommended for their popularity. Tip... if you visit these places in the evening... they even offer Live King Crab dinners Vancouver style if there's a group of 6 or 8 of you. Amazing to see your dinner running across the table. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBZEm92-0Hw&t=772s
  5. A vid on the train experience... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYakRsp-e4k Other factors to consider... how far is the hotel from Canada Line station? Use Google Maps to plan your post-train luggage drag. Is your flight arriving between 3pm and 6pm when trains are super busy and congested? Roads/bridges are congested too for taxi's. Is your flight arriving after 9pm when the trains run once every 20 minutes? Are you riding the train before 6:30pm on a weekday where the airport ride is $9.45 with the two zone and airport surcharge per person. Depending on where you are staying... a cab ride can be $34 for door to door convenience. https://www.yvr.ca/-/media/yvr/documents/transportation/20220415_yvr_2197_fare_stanchion_top-eng.pdf
  6. IMO... Vancouver is the most accessible city compared to other places due to the work of Rick Hansen. You can see sidewalk ramps everywhere. The Canada Line is a great option to get around from airport to downtown. Perhaps the city's only weakness are... wheelchair taxi's where service are inconsistent. Especially in the suburbs. public washrooms when the malls are closed... it's an issue for able body too. older buildings where elevators may be out of service
  7. I remember my cruise ship docking at 1pm instead of 7am at San Pedro. By the time I cleared customs..., it was like 2:30pm. there was only a handful of taxi at the cruise terminal to meet the Royal Princess passengers. Total chaos! So glad I had a late evening flight as a contingency. When news ship arrival was going to be late, the flights prices had gone up like 10 times for my flight.
  8. The Blue Horizon is a nice central hotel with lots of restaurants and shops nearby on Robson. However, my vote would be an airport hotel. avoid expensive downtown parking high incidents of downtown vehicle break-ins. A lot of rental vehicles do not have BC license plates, so the vehicle will be targeted My fav airport hotel is the Raddison Hotel Vancouver Airport for those with a vehicle https://www.radissonhotelsamericas.com/en-us/hotels/radisson-vancouver-airport free parking in an area with much lower break-ins three nearby grocery stores for supplies $4 subway train downtown in 20 minutes with a station across the street lots of Asian restaurants to explore
  9. I would taxi or uber from airport to hotel for door to door convenience. Depending on how much luggage.... Some may choose to walk 17 minutes or 3/4 miles to the cruise terminal. Otherwise taxi/uber it.
  10. 5 min walk? More like 60 seconds to cross the street as they are opposite each other. Both offer similar amenities. Pan Pacific main advantage is the view and watching the cruise ships dock beneath you in the morning. Fairmont offers a food court for affordable eats. eg McDonalds and Starbucks
  11. Too late for Alaska 2022 cruises, but for some repo's... TLDR > depart Seattle at 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 26. It'll arrive in Vancouver at 11:45 a.m. > A return trip is scheduled to depart Vancouver at 5:45 p.m., arriving in Seattle at 10:10 p.m > second round trip is coming once staffing and equipment is available - https://twitter.com/AmtrakConnects/status/1565021531725611012 - https://www.amtrakcascades.com/

  18. The main bus limitation I found is like 7 or 8 inches thickness! Carry-on a plane needs to be less than 9 inches thick that winds up under a bus.. I now cram what I can into a 6 inch thick backpack or 6 inch thick briefcase to ensure I can use the bus overhead storage area.
  19. When I used to travel on the former Bolt bus, pickup was near the intersection of 5th Ave South and S Weller. This intersection is one block East of Amtrak station and one block West of Chinatown. Just outside of the Boiling Point restaurant is a staging area for charter buses.
