    Melisa Sail?

Has anyone booked or sailed with "Melisa Sail"? Their Turkish sailing ship is beautiful. Just wondered people's thoughts? Thanks in advance! David
  3. We rented a jeep at the port for the day. We circumnavigated the island and had a blast. It’s very easy to do, although sometimes you’re not actually on a road as much as a trail, but if you Google driving maps of Aruba, you can find really good maps. We got to see a lot of the island that you would not have seen on an excursion. And we were at our own pace
  4. Thanks for the input. I’m booking 6035. Are usually opt for angled balconies when I can, but in this case, I don’t like the idea of 7171 looking out over canopies and not the water Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the description of 7171. I do like looking straight down to the water. Hmmm, I might like 6035 better Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. For those of you that have sailed on the millennium class, specifically the Summit: I can see clearly the benefits of the sweet 16 cabins, and am looking at 6035. I like the larger balcony and being able to look straight down to the water. And I don’t mind being in the forward section. But 7171 is also available. I like the angled balcony for the view forward. What concerns me is am I looking straight down on the canopy of the suites of deck 6 below? Or is this past that point? I would appreciate any feedback on these cabins. Thanks in advance!! 7. I’m going to go with changed their policy. We enjoyed happy hours twice every day at Horizons, Martinis, and Grand Bar. And not one bartender ever said that we that it was not to share. I do know that it did not include martinis, bourbons, or obviously the drink of the day (which we also enjoyed a lot of) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That’s news to me. We just got off Marina, and took advantage of the happy hour twice a day. Every time we each got one drink. No bartender ever said we could not share. They also offered us a double shot if we preferred. The only caveat was they both had to be the same drink. No problem there. [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. we just got back from a week there (last week in February). Never rained a drop, but it was HOT!
  10. We just got back. Ended up renting a car from Avis near the pier and dropping it off at the airport that night. $104 total, and was a brand new car! Was a great day!
  11. We just got back. We booked an all day 4x4/boat combo on Bora Bora with Vavua 4x4 adventures. Was an amazing full day for $140/person
  12. We just did a full day with Ato. Was an amazing adventure. Lunch was awesome!
  13. I'm not sure who pays the corkage fee. We just got off Oceania, brought onboard 4 bottles of wine, 1 champagne, and 1 rum. We always poured a glass for dinner and brought it to the dining rooms. No one said anything. I suppose if you brought a whole bottle?
  14. Our cruise gets back into port at 8AM, and out flight out of Papeete doesn't leave till that night. We would like to rent a car for the day. Is there a car rental right at the cruise port? I see that Avis is in town, but would we have to take a taxi to get there? OR Would we be better off with a driver taking us around the island? What does one do with their luggage for the day? Thanks!
  15. Like so many other travelers, I'm always hesitant about doing excursions other than those offered by the cruise ships. But we took a chance with Thomas. Absolutely no regrets, the island tour was amazing. I found 6 others on my ship, so the 8 of us hired his van, and there were 8 more that wanted to go so he arranged another van. The communication between me and Thomas before the cruise was great, he always emailed me back promptly and answered all my questions. When we got off the ship and saw all those taxis, I looked around, joking that I hoped that the blue Mercedes van was ours. It was! We were comfortably seated. Thomas was amazing, and true to his tour description. He told us all about the island, it's history, geography, economy, population, etc. He even told us about his life which made the tour so much more personal. We never felt rushed at each stop, he allowed us as much time as we needed. At the waterfall, he brought out juice and pastries that he and his wife had baked. The other van sort of followed us around, and his other driver, Sebastian, was equally fantastic. He and Sebastian toured all the sites with us, explaining everything as we walked around. At the rum distillery, Thomas arranged for all the rum tastings, again making the day more special. We drove back along the scenic coast, stopping for some lunch and beverages. Upon our return, he dropped some of us off in town, and the rest back at the ship. I can honestly say this tour was one of the best tours ever in my many, many cruises. Overall and amazing day, and worth every dollar spent!!
