  1. First time bringing grandchildren 2 and 6. We are sailing Wonder of the Seas in May. Please share any info you have from experience and or links to information YouTube didn't have much, just a 3 minute video. Thanks in advance
  2. ok, thanks folks.. We are flying from Alaska and I thought my husband was crazy for booking 19 days, blew my packing mind. We will need to keep bags to a minimum. Knowing they can wash our clothes and I need to pack comfortably but keen helps me not want to cancel this. Now I can be excited for my first NCL cruise! Appreciate all the replies!
  3. 19-Day Transatlantic from San Juan to Lisbon: Spain & Dominican RepublicApril 07, 2024
  4. My mother fell and broke her hip on a Nova Scotia excursion. The insurance was excellent and paid for her to fly home (once medically cleared after surgery) and paid for a private nurse to escort her from Canada to her home in Buffalo NY. She was refunded a pro-rated amount, having used three days of the cruise. Her travel companion received the same in compensation. The travel companion was reimbursed for the full flight as well. This took about two months time and documentation of the hospitalization.
  5. It may be best to be dropped off with the luggage, and picked up. Assuming you can stand for about 15 minutes. The walk isn't more than that. Walking WITH the luggage to and fro is what may be your biggest challenge. Hard to say. Plus the garage fills up, unless you arrive early, than have to stand in line until about 11am. Last I saw there was no valet parking, but it's been a year since I cruised from there.
  6. I have watched the Aqua show on the Allure twice and it was fantastic.
  7. We looked at both, both are excellent. I had a hard time selecting the Wonder for more $$, made the mistake of letting the group decide (funding the family vacay). I would have chosen Harmony and saved the money. But hey, I was very pleased with the Allure too!
  8. I have three reservations linked to mine, and have done so in the past. I have never had an issue with being seated together. However, never assume. When we board, one of us goes to the MDR and ensures that we are seated together. We also request a preferred location at this time. There is usually a small line of folks doing the same, but it moves fast.
  9. In the past, RCCL had all non-refundable rates. Like you, I was surprised by the change fee. I have varied experiences in booking with another company. So change fee it was for us... for 7 people. I get it.
  10. Unless this is specific to the Wonder, the MDR should be open for lunch on sea days. I am looking at my reservation to confirm, but I think my cruise is too far out.
  11. there is a private photo package for $179 which included 10 photos available as well
  12. We have not done a transatlantic, nor repo cruise where the weather is "chilly" and warm, nor one that is two plus weeks. Add to this, that we are new to Norwegian. We booked the Epic and the Bliss. Both are a bit out, but I'm trying to plan how reasonable husbands choices are, so please help a gal, I don't want four big suitcases: 1. Do you pack for a week and have your clothes laundered by the steward, or are there laundry facilities? If the steward does them, how much per bag? 2. Do you bring umpteen large suitcases full of clothing changes for a changing climate, ship day wear and nightwear? 3. On large ships such as these, is anyone going to really notice my recycling the same outfits? 4. I was thinking of one black skirt and one black pair of pants for the evening with a change of shirts... therefore only one pair of evening shoes, is this the way to go? I am thinking of at least one backup pair if they break. 5. If there are do-it-yourself laundry areas, am I allowed to bring my preferred detergent and softener or are these not allowed by the security? 6. If there is do-it-yourself laundry, do you bring laundry bags on board with you?, trying to navigate this in my head if I have to travel with laundry. 7. shoes; sneakers for touring, sandles for the ship, dress-up sandles for the ship, evening shoes... ugh! share some pictures! Thank you all so very much in advance for your help.
  13. Having lived in both Cocoa Beach and Orlando, I would rent a car. This gives you enormous options for staying in orlando the night before. Do disney springs, or Universal city walk that night, then a hotel of your choosing that is not the airport Hilton rate which is pricey, albeit a great hotel. Or you can uber or lyft anywhere you choose in Orlando, they are prompt and plentiful. That time of year, Cocoa beach hotels (Cape Canaveral) are pricey. We like to stay directly next to the pier, not the port, the pier. Which is Days in or Holiday Inn with an ocean view. you can uber to restaurants here, or eat on the pier, if you choose to stay there the night before. Dropping off the car is easy and they will shuttle you to the pier. Confirm though please, as this could always change.
