  1. So you just stand there and yell? Do other passengers rely your shouting to other parts of the ship?
  2. I thought I saw a package like that earlier but when I couldn't find it I figured I misremembered. Where would it usually be? If it's not currently under either beverages or internet does that mean it sold out or something?
  3. Yet another reason they should stop classifying 12-year-olds as teenagers onboard. Thanks for letting me know.
  4. Since Royal Caribbean decided my 12-year-olds are "teens" I purchased the internet package to connect so I can keep track of them on the ship. Now that there isn't a charge for messaging in the RC app, I'm debating canceling it or keeping it so I can use an app that will notify them of messages and I can call them if they don't respond.
  5. You mean Hairspray and Chicago were options and we're stuck with Mama Mia instead? That's so disappointing.
  6. If you maintain an address in NY (if traveling isn't a permanent gig), you could also try contacting your state representatives' offices and see if they can help.
  7. I was just referencing the previous commenter who included renewals by mail in their statement about no change renewals. When I renewed mine after I was married I confirmed that I had to mail mine in when we got passports for the rest of my family. Even with the name change I was only able to renew by mail. I remember what a pain that was to gather all the documents, pre-covid. I don't envy you trying to get everything together now. I'm glad they were able to change your name to match your passport for now. Hopefully you can get that birth certificate and start the renewal soon.
  8. I never looked into online renewals, but you can process a name change by mail. You just have to submit your proof of name change with an official document (like marriage license or court order) with your forms and previous passport.
  9. They would still have to book the reservation in the cruise line's system so you would have to clear any internal systems that would show someone as banned from the cruise line. You would still have to check in and have all your travel documents in order. It's a shorter timeline but what other security checks would be in place in advance?
  10. If they are at least 30lbs the Cosco Finale makes a great lightweight travel seat. We took the Cosco Scenera Next on our Alaskan cruise when my twins were 4 and they stacked nicely in the closet on board, but my kids are extra tiny and that seat is usually outgrown at 3. I understand the Finale stacks similarly though, which was nice for storing on the ship. (My daughter was 7 before she was 30lbs and had been otherwise booster ready for over a year, so we never had a second Finale to try stacking them.)
  11. That's about when I started looking. Since I booked early, my parents booked early too. My sister thought she would go with us. We're now not quite 4 months away and she just downloaded the app on Sunday. One of the excursions she wanted to join us on was sold out.
  12. I think expecting the phone rep to know more than what's currently listed in the computer is as optimistic as expecting the price is correct for services that would be hundreds of dollars individually.
  13. I'm also hoping this isn't a mistake so I get the cheap internet.
  14. Has anyone taken a child for whom they were not the legal guardian on an excursion that required a waiver? I'm considering sending my daughter with her aunt on a zipline excursion in Rotaan, most likely through Royal Caribbean. But I'm wondering if there will be issues with my sister signing the waiver since she isn't the legal guardian. I know this is going to be provider specific, but just wondering generally if people seem to care or if they just want a signed document to point to later.
  15. I have one child who saw it when I was looking at accessible excursion options and really wanted to go and one child who has lost all excitement for this cruise after finding out that the stock picture of the pool area shown for the Allure includes water slides that are not yet found on the Allure and the zipline is not available to kids her size. So unless the other beaches have a couple water slides too, they won't help.
  16. One definitely includes the buffet and the other doesn't list it (so I assume it does not). But the one that includes the buffet says "Enjoy a day of adventure at Playa Mia Grand Beach Park. Kayak, swim, sail, play on a water trampoline, pedal a water bicycle, or just relax on a beach float—there’s so much to do! Mix it up with a couple land sports and hit the soccer field, Ping-Pong, or volleyball courts" whereas the other says "Add some aquatic adventure to your Mexican vacation with a carefree, fun-filled day at Playa Mia Grand Beach Water Park, the largest beach attraction in Cozumel. Complete with roundtrip transportation to and from port, you’ll enjoy approximately four hours exploring the park at your leisure. White-sand shorelines and the Oasis Island Pool offer seaside serenity for those looking to relax. This is one adventure the whole family will love." So my question was as to whether the more expensive one included more activities or just listed more activities.
  17. I should have mentioned that I tried their website but nothing is called "Grand" or "Deluxe" for them. However, I'm sure the food is a large part of the cost difference so knowing it isn't recommended does help. Thanks!
  18. Does anyone know difference between these Royal Caribbean excursions: "Deluxe Beach Break at Playa Mia" and "Playa Mia Grand Beach Break?" Is it just food/alcohol or is there a difference in activities included too? The Deluxe Beach Break doesn't really mention which activities are included so it's hard to compare. The price difference seems like more than food and is pretty significant even for kids (as otherwise I would think it was alcohol). I tried emailing but getting a useful response out of Royal doesn't seem to be a thing so I thought I would try here.
  19. I know this doesn't pertain the the original question on this thread, but it is common to get a document with a notarized signature of the official presiding at a wedding ceremony? If this policy is strictly followed then young couples in my county would be prohibited from sailing. The minister's returns the signed marriage license to the county who issues a marriage certificate that does not contain the minister's signature. The couple could probably have the minister return the marriage license to them, but the minister's signature wouldn't be notarized.
  20. Thanks! I won't be going near Newark but probably a good idea to have the TSA page on scooter batteries handy in case I run into that elsewhere.
  21. This particular group is said to been a "Yeshiva week" group. Yeshiva's are schools for orthodox Jews who strictly observe a Saturday sabbath so they wouldn't choose a cruise that started or ended on a Saturday.
  22. This is a lesson I keep trying to explain to my child who reacts to annoying sibling behavior by hitting their sibling. Annoying behavior is a problem and should be dealt with, but violent behavior is a worse problem and their violence will always lead to a proportionate response. Since this person was apparently facing your party, waiving your hand near their face to get their attention would have been my next step. Alternatively saying very loudly to the person near the elevator buttons/door "HOLD THE DOOR, we need to get this rude person to move so we can get off" might have gotten other passengers to get his attention for you.
