You may be waiting a awhile. Good news is there are plenty of good options at a similar price point. Even a bit more is worth more to pay if the product is that much better and the truth is - the product is better. Those cruise lines all live on the same world as carnival - so stop the excuses.

I don’t see why it’s difficult to have a speed line for P/D and suites. I feel like Carnival will milk the Covid train as long as they can. I have been on Celebrity and Royal and have seen them handle the passengers just fine with all the same “staffing issues”. I even had my room serviced twice a day without asking! If the staffing issues are so bad for carnival they should limit the passenger counts - I would think it’s safer for all to do that.

Just got off Royal again and I am amazed at their product - Oasis is a real game changer! But I have to say these stupid speakers everyone brings to blast what they believe is amzaing music are the worst - they have made their way to royal and nobody stopped them even in the adult only areas My next cruise is on carnival... We shall see!

I agree but NCL and Royal have had ships of 4500 passengers in the winter for many years. If MSC brings one all year as well then its time to try again. Unless the brand doesn't want it or they feel maybe the cliental that cruises carnival from NY is seasonal.

They need more ports for more ships. Big ships especially. Could be time to retry NY especially with air travel a mess.

Everyone else does year round. I watched a YouTube on the ship and it’s really beautiful. It’s looks ready for cold. Make longer cruises in the dead of winter and they have a chance. This has been debated since they took the ships out - I did miracle and splendor in January out of NYC - loved them.

Ship looks as different to the carnival brand as it could. Main pool has a dome - perfect for winter cruising. Norwegian is bringing Prima to NY for spring 23, oasis comes in May, MSC -?? Ship - This ship may me what carnival needs in NY. But please leave for the winter!!!

Carnival back to NY full time?? That would be nice. More ships in NY with msc Addig as well should help prices across all lines as well as give us all more options. hope they keep the ship here. Is there a dome over the pool on the ship??

This blanket statement is written about people who don’t use this website. I have been on more carnival cruises than all the others combined and in my person experience the crowds have been tougher on certain sailings. I still love the carnival experience and there are many things carnival does better, but the overall experience is worse when dealing with some of the loud music in hallways, people with clothing falling off and rough attitudes. I have personally seen this better controlled on Royal - not so much Norwegian. As for price they are all about equal now. Actually sailing oasis for less than the magic out of NY. Price has been very similar lately for the cruises I am looking at.

The one difference that puts Royal ahead of Carnival are the passengers. Had a few situations on carnival where I was afraid for my life (no joke) and security was a joke. The diversity on the ship sometimes can attracts a rough crowd. Never had that on Royal.

Great place to use the liquor card for extra booze to make drinks stronger. I will get a chocolate martini and head over to bionic bar for all the vanilla vodka I can get in a cup and mix it. Extra vodka for my drinks. What a great bar!! Other than that it’s a waste of space. Nobody gets anything good to drink there.

I agree with this but I also don’t think the cruise lines cannot staff the ships properly and those requirements help them keep the demand a bit lower. As well when they do lift many in the other camp will drop out as well. My personal opinion is when they drop the requirements- the cruise fares will shoot in faster than gas prices right now.

Most certainly more cases - My vote is end vaccine and continue testing to get on. Make the unvaccinated purchase insurance in case but in general its better to buy if vaccinated or not.

although some could say vaccinated or not people are getting on with covid - so if vaccine stays so should the testing - Testing is prob the best way to lower cases on the ship at this point

4/5 drinks a day - sea days even more when you start at 10am and finish at 12 am 2 coffee drinks 5-10 bottles of water a day soda/club soda/Pellegrino Trying to see how You don't break even without thinking about it. There are many ways to do it cheaper without being a rum runner - but there is value in getting what you want anywhere its available. Simple rule - If you have to think about breaking even...the package isn't for you no matter what the price is - unless it free.

I agree. But maybe it gives some ideas. Whatever - I really don’t care what people do, enjoying life in my shoes.

I got through 4 pages of this thread - sorry if I repeat something as well…. I was just on adventure and bought the package while it was still in the low $60 range. One thing I noticed the selection of liquor is much less than there used to be and they don’t have things like Bailey’s and Damboue at most of the bars. At the casino the servers routinely said they were out or did not have scotches or mixes. I think the prices are going up to get less people to drink excessive. No package means watching the # of drinks and your price point. It’s more a supply issue and so they want demand down. Royal knows there is a sweet spot that people will still buy the package while others not. On a side note my cruise was colder as we went to Canada and I spent more time in hot tub where people were sharing cards like crazy and the staff could have cared less.

They aren’t ready for the numbers I guess. Enjoy- your on a ship!
