  1. Carnival has faster internet and a much bigger budget...the price you pay has nothing to do with the technology you get.
  2. Depends what drug it is...some they are not allowed to refill within a certain time frame by state law. Best to discuss with your doctor and insurance company if you are going for more than 90 days. You can always have them filled while you are away by a family member and shipped out...I've done that for people before.
  3. PS - If you are asking about the insurance companies, they will typical do a 90 day supply. For longer cruises, your doctor will write a note and the pharmacy will fill for whatever you need - even if insurance won't cover it all.
  4. Bali (Indonesia) has extremely strict drug laws. You cannot get pre-approval for sleeping pills or anxiety meds or anti-depression meds. Don't even try. Better to walk through and, if you get searched, produce a doctors letter with copies of the prescriptions and pay the "cash fine". Don't bother with NZ/Singapore/etc...just bring doctor's note and pills in original containers. I bring whatever I need and I n130+ countries the only one I ever had a concern over was Indonesia.
  5. Low-Cost should really say More-Profitable...its not like the fare will be cheaper booking directly.
  6. Usually what happens is that the large TA companies at the highest rate employ hourly TA's and thus the owner of the agency can kickback a good chunk.
  7. The entire cruise fare is not commissionable so it would be a bit less. Also, not every TA Agency earns at the same rate.
  8. You can always pull your business from a TA - no time limit - but after 30 days the commission doesn't go with the booking.
  9. You call call the regular 800 number and ask for a supervisor....but they may not be allowed to discuss the matter with you because you have a TA. You cab call corporate but they will most likely follow the policy as well.

  11. Clarification - pick your own get the charge BUT Regent may have multiple options without charge and one of those may work for you. This might also explain the people getting charged vs. not.
  12. If they decide to honor the request, that is how they will probably do it.
  13. They won't buy it and put it in the shipping container that is sent out to re-provision. They will get the request on-board, wherever the ship is, and the F&B or Bar Manager will send a crew member out to look for it locally. As it appears to not be a mainstream brand (what do I know?) and it is not very expensive, I thought it might be easier to bring a bottle. They will probably find it if they are in the USA but overseas...who knows.
  14. How about those of us in our 30's, 40's and even 50's!
  15. Agreed - but the crew fund does nothing for the crew in terms of cash. It goes to pay for an occasional excursion and it subsidizes the departmental parties in the crew bar.
  16. That was a starting point for laundry I believe...it moves upwards of course. I think a bartender is around 1800 a month. I can find the hiring info on the internet if I look - Regent uses a staffing and provisioning company for all except high-ranking employees.
  17. I have no idea but I know that some bartenders who left more than doubled their pay when tips were part of the equation. Same for waiters and cabin crew. Perhaps some people appreciate the higher BASE pay? A bartender is/should be a sales job, not a service job and some people appreciate the opportunity to earn according to their potential...and some people fear it.
  18. I agree 100% - the only thing wrong is when someone tries to convince others that their choice is wrong.
  19. There is NOTHING more important than putting names on those forms and taking the time to complete every single survey - both mid-cruise and end of cruise. But tipping and supporting via comments are not mutually exclusive. Is it really fair to say that (extra) tipping is the easy way out?
