  1. No more folks using their $14 credit towards a pitcher of beer at Playmakers now...
  2. Thinking about booking a 4 night dining package. Details online say it is good for lunch and dinner in a specialty restaurant. Just called Celebrity and they told me dinner only. Wording on website says otherwise. Confused at this point...
  3. Love the older Vision class ships on Royal, but makes sense if they are forced to rid themselves of them. Use the older Celebrity M-class ships that are younger than Royal's Vision class into a combined line as Celebrity seems more desperate to cut costs over Royal now. Savings would be immense to just combine the two lines.
  4. Reposting my post from another Celebrity topic here... Seems like Royal and Celebrity should merge into one. Celebrity being advertised as a premium line, yet adding a room service fee like Royal makes the premium proposition harder to justify and Celebrity cutting back on the dinner buffet and Royal not cutting back on their dinner buffet. The line between the two seems so close now after January 1st. Less marketing costs if they combine would be another savings. Not surprised if they merge the two lines in the future.

  6. Booked the cartoon plate thing. I could not say it better! Wife has pestered me to book it for our March Constellation sailing and did it just to make her happy. Lots of flair....
  7. Sorry to hear about the dinner buffet as many have posted the same negative experience. 'You won't starve' should be Celebrity's new advertising slogan. Strange as Royal has not been cutting back at their dinner buffet in the Windjammer.
  8. Does not sound good. Stir fry station is my favorite and sounds like it is not there at dinner. The stations would have less food waste so not sure what Celebrity is trying to accomplish.
  9. They do in Tampa. Doesn't make it right that you cheat and go before your assigned time in other ports either. Glad you think you are a VIP and rules do not apply to you.
  10. Why have boarding times if they are not enforced? Not a busy-body, but I respect rules and don't look for an excuse to jump the line. Royal should get rid of times if they are not enforced at every port and many have an excuse that the current rules do not apply to them.
  11. Mistakes happen, responding to them in a timely manner and not putting the stress on the call center staff would go a long way. Really, how hard is it to send an email or push notification to those who got this and explain it was sent in error....
  12. Port of Tampa checks based on our past sailings. I commend them for that. Stick to your boarding time and don't be rude. Diamond here and that does not entitle us to board before our assigned time. Friends or no friends in a suite. You can easily meet them later.
  13. Having a $18 drink package IT mistake flashback...
  14. Royal is great at building and hyping their next world's largest cruise ship. Their IT infrastructure to support their current fleet, not so good....
  15. You would think a message from Royal stating this was a mistake would of been sent by now....
  16. Glad it was not added to Allure. Total gimmick. Still have a nice champagne bar on Allure with real bartenders.
  17. No Noro is a thing long before Covid. Sorry Royal treats those with possible Noro in this manner.
  18. Why do you think it is better that crew does not serve you in the WJ? I loved not touching the spoons or tongs in the buffet. Seemed more upscale and without the things most folks hate about a buffet which is touching tongs and spoons from other cruisers. Finger lickers roaming the buffet is a a turn off to me. We all see them.
  19. Agree, but crew serving food in WJ all the time should of been a thing to this current day to reduce the spread.
  20. Only nice place to sit on Oasis class on promenade is the aft. A few chairs there. Best promenades are on older ships for those of us who like to sit and see the ocean.
  21. Seeing lots of chatter about it on the interweb about noro on this ship. Not seen reports here, but too many reports elsewhere for it not to be a thing.... Staff serving in WJ should of been an ongoing thing when they did it late in 2021 and early 2022.
  22. Andy Stuart was a also a great guy with NCL also. Former NCL president and CEO in 2020. He had the Kloster background from the 80's and knew the heritage of NCL and respected it like I do. Andy did say he was surprised in an interview years later with all the negative feedback from us who liked traditional dining and was more than he thought when Star Cruises bought the line. FDR going all in on go carts with taking up too much public space on upper decks was too much for Andy in 2020. Just my take on NCL...
  23. Hopefully there is a sign or plaque inside the hall to state Kloster Hall. Kloster did sadly pass in 2020 and saw another article where he was sitting on his porch wIth the original bell from Sunward. Not the NCL Sunward we cruised on in 1993, but the Sunward launched in 1966. Sunward in 1993 was the ex Royal Viking Sky and got me hooked on cruising. She was launched in 1973.
  24. Did they name it Kloster Hall? That would be appropriate.
