  1. I just received this text minutes ago. We are 3 days from embarkation. Along with all of the messaging on their website I think Royal has done more than a enough to keep me up to date.
  2. I received a reminder from Royal via email 2 days ago for my embarkation this coming Friday.
  3. True, my bad... I should have been more specific. This is true for JS's and below.
  4. I could go with that... It's bold but I'm nothing if not adventurous.
  5. You are correct. No test required pre cruise for your 3 year old and no test at the pier.
  6. This was true but it has changed. The new protocols do not require kids under 5 to test at all irrespective of vaccine status. Guests 5 years of age and older who are not fully vaccinated must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise. Fully vaccinated guests 5 years of age and older must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken within the 3 days before boarding day on sailings that are 10 nights or longer only. Testing is not required for fully vaccinated guests on shorter itineraries. Guests younger than 5 do not have any testing requirements.
  7. It didn't. You can easily book a refundable deposit when booking online. It is available to select on the screen immediately after you enter your personal information.
  8. Another great reason why I book using my great TA. Not only is he clear about what is being offered, he offers great group space rates through his agency that are always fully refundable.
  9. When speaking to my waiter and asst. waiter on the last night on Adventure back in 2019. They clearly knew we had the auto-grats in place and were very thankful for an additional tip above and beyond that. I can't speak to what the cabin attendants know but our waiters certainly did. At least on that particular cruise anyways. I don't prepay them. I leave them on my account to accumulate as the cruise progresses. If there was ever a problem that couldn't or wouldn't be resolved I guess I could remove them. I've never had a problem unresolved or seen the need to lower or eliminate gratuities.
  10. I'm doing an Alaskan cruise this Friday. I'm hoping that this is not only my last proctored test but my last test ever. πŸ™‚
  11. Yes I realize that. But if you are in a pinch and need to pick some up quick and don't want to wait for the taxpayer funded ones this is a quick and easy option. Also, as of Sept 5 no proctoring required anymore.
  12. I print out nothing... Technology is great. I find it easy to whip out my phone and and flash whatever screen I need. I understand peoples apprehension, I just don't experience it.
  13. Walmart is selling the Abbott 2 pack for $20. Lots of stock in my local store. https://www.walmart.com/ip/BinaxNOW-COVID-19-Antigen-Self-Test-by-Abbott-2-Count/142089281?athbdg=L1600
  14. This is the only legitimate alternative suggested so far... Thank you Dawg.
  15. Yes, frozen drinks for sure... That shade is too pink for me. I prefer a darker, more ruby shade.
  16. Please post a video of you drinking a Frappe without a straw. I need a little morning entertainment. πŸ™‚
  17. I'll be packing straws it would appear.
  18. Thanks, I have lots ready to go but just wanted to know if I should bring them.
  19. Do they have the facial recognition for immigration when debarking?
  20. I'm boarding Ovation this week and was wondering what kind of straws are currently being used on board. I despise those paper straws but was sure that I had read somewhere here on CC that they had changed to some sort biodegradable plastic straw that didn't disintegrate in your mouth before you could finish your drink. Should I bring straws or will I be fine.
