It was HAL’s decision to tell us to mask up this trip….must have been for a legitimate reason, so enforce it, otherwise don’t give us a policy change upon boarding.

We are not happy that HAL implemented a mask mandate for indoors but then says they won’t do anything extra to enforce it. They are the ones who changed their policy for this cruise, apparently because of high covid numbers, so they should follow thru and enforce it. Very disappointed with them.

We are on the Rotterdam now. Masks are required indoors but no one is enforcing it. There have been several complaints made with no response. There are covid cabins on both deck 4 and deck 5. We can only use the aft elevators to get to our cabin on 4.

Many passengers need to be negative to get home….if you are from a European country you don’t need one..it’s easy to say that masking is not necessary if you don’t have to worry about flying home.

Can anyone tell me how far the Avis car rental is from the port…address is Nedre Strandgt 50. is it walkable? Should we see if we can get a taxi? thanks….

Each one has to do it separately…you can do each one at the same time on different devices…

I am not looking for myself…I just need a magnet and ornament…..but I would like to get a few gifts for people at home who are watching our home, etc……we tend to lean towards food items that can be consumed….chocolates, cookies?

We will be on an Avalon Rhine river cruise and was curious if there are certain souvenirs/gifts we should be on the lookout for in certain towns? We go Basel to Amsterdam. Thanks for any suggestions!

Why don;t you call and ask them to change it. We did for a different line and was accommodated.

My question was to get clarification as we have an upcoming Celebrity cruise in Europe and was not sure of these new regulations…..I was not suggesting that people should walk around with covid. I just didn’t understand if they will have you disembark at the next port after you are covid free or you stay on until the end of whatever cruise you are on. They need to have enough cabins available if they have cruisers stay onboard instead of putting them up in hotels. I can’t imagine what you are going thru…we are stressing over getting my husband to test negative before leaving home . I am sorry if you took my question in a way it was not intended. We appreciate your updates. Not sure I am ready for a Celebrity cruise under these conditions.

Also, can’t you get a letter of recovery after the 10 days and no fever?

They will actually allow covid positive passengers to stay on after their paid cruise has ended without extra cost?

Where were you docked when the excursions to Heidelberg left, before you repositioned to Mainz? Was that in your itinerary that way or was it changed?

So that seems to point to the dining room or your cabin staff. Jim-liam said that they lost the service of several room stewards/butlers along the way and they both got covid…. Wish you the best!

Any updated information on whether HAL accepts a letter of recovery to board a European cruise out of Amsterdam. I would really like something in writing. Thanks!
