Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This is very interesting to read and is new on Celebrity’s page. You might want to read it actually it isn’t new but has been obviously updated. https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/customer-support/refusal-to-transport
  2. My error. Did not see where the OP lived. However we see so many people who travel a great distance and get on and get off the ship and never stay in some of the interesting ending ports.
  3. You should stay in Sydney for a few days. Don’t leave the day you get there. We have been there three times. We got off the ship and just walked over to the Park Hyatt.
  4. We did the Galapagos twice…once when they first started sailing there and once later. We were on the Expedition. I am not sure how they do it now, but we flew into Quito for a few days, stayed at the JW Marriott and totally enjoyed ourselves. We were then flown out to the Galapagos. As I said there was only one ship both times. If we were to go back..which we won’t..I would go on the Flora. It looks like such a beautiful ship it would be my first choice. I don’t even remember which loops we took, but it is a lovely trip and something everyone should do it once.
  5. Why would anyone spend that kind of money on a bag? To answer your question it is the same as owning fine jewelry. You have a few good things that you use or wear all the time and will wear forever or in the case of a bag the same. Good things never go out of style..they are timeless. That is why. I have 3 expensive bags..that’s it, and over the course of years have spent less money than I would have buying an assortment of cheap bags. To each his own. It is just like good jewelry, you have it, you wear it, and enjoy it forever.
  6. The only place you can buy a real new LV bag is directly from LV. There are no other authorized places. There is a second market for pre-owned Louis Vuitton that is authorized . Obviously that is what is on the ship. There is absolutely no problem with these bags because they have to be authenticated to be sold as such. Now there are lots of “LV” bags for sale online, etc. most are fake. If you want a real LV either buy it from LV, or from an authorized reseller. I have one that I bought 12 years ago from LV direct, and I have one from the 80’s that came from an authorized reseller in New York. As far as Coach bags those are just a cheap bag that you can buy at any outlet mall. https://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/authentic-louis-vuitton
  7. That was our first cruise with Celebrity. Really liked it. We also did a South America trip on her, and maybe one other. Nice size. http://www.cruise-ships.com/photos/1030/
  8. Anyone that “emotionally” gets ready for quarantine has their priorities very confused. That is absolutely nuts that anyone would want to cruise so badly they would risk their safety and care so little about the safety of others. Knowing what we know..just because we are vaccinated isn’t a guarantee. There will be those cruisers who get sick and die…maybe it hasn’t happened yet, but it will as they continue to pile the people on to full capacity. with reference to the protocols people don’t have a clue what they are because they are constantly changing.
  9. I just want to say that maybe you think it has been okay…that is not a good cruise experience and how anyone could say it is “not that bad” is beyond me. Going on a cruise should be a relaxing experience. If the cruise lines cannot provide that and some customers seem to be happy in quarantine I hope they all go out of business.
  10. This is terrible…no way to be treated. I hope more people read this, and cancel. No one should have to go through this and especially when it sounds like the medical people are totally indifferent. Very sorry.
  11. We have been there, done that..not cruising anymore.
  12. I don’t know how to answer your question. We are avid cruisers and with Celebrity many times. Our first cruise with them was on the Zenith…I don’t dislike them , but when you can build a billion $$$ ship and bleed money, it is either poor planning or bad business. After 55 cruises, I am afraid our cruising days are over. Perhaps the loss in stock prices is because they have lost their target audience, what ever that was. I think the billion $$ ships are not helping their financials. IMHO perhaps they should have played it closer to the vest …just like going out and buying a new Mercedes when you have two perfectly good ones in the garage. ….the experience is not what we booked or are willing to assume a risk that seems to be increasing. Best wishes to you.
  13. As I said before all that money they didn’t pay in taxes because all ships are registered out of the US ….guess I have no sympathy for them. Maybe had they paid their fair share they would have received Federal Covid funding relief. It is like the airlines, I am sure you know that all FEES they collect are not taxed. No doubt you knew that. I.e. baggage fees
  14. Your points are good, but I believe the remaining ships upgrades were not done due to covid and the shutdown..also lack of income.
