  1. I think you just got lucky. I’m still having issues so no universal fix has been made at least.
  2. Mine changes throughout the day. I could try with no success five times in a row, then refresh and try again and have it come up. Then not come up again. I keep saving them now the moment it comes up so I can keep copies. It’s really frustrating though
  3. For me an Alaskan cruise isn’t about those ports. I enjoy the open sea, the wildlife and Glacier Bay. I may be bias because I live in the PNW so the “amazing views” of the Canadian Inside Passage is no different than taking my boat up the Columbia Gorge. There is nothing special, it’s just calmer waters. It’s also why I don’t fall into “tourist traps” because I can get my own fresh Dungeness crab here. Either way, I personally found the inside passage to be lacking and less beautiful and less sea life than when I have taken the outer way back. But if others love it for some reason, more power to them. Everyone has different priorities. Feel free to continue to call ports “tourist traps” and completely disregard the thousands of people that enjoy the cruise every year. I would venture there are far more “tourist trap” ports in other regions. But whatever. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was just sharing my opinion.
  4. I agree with you completely. We saw SIGNIFICANTLY more wildlife going the other way. When I did the the inside passage we saw zero wildlife. The other direction was filled with wildlife. Plus I love the open sea. The inside passage made me feel like I was just on a river cruise. I feel like the only benefit is that it’s typically calmer waters.
  5. I don’t like that NA took the Eurodams dock and the Eurodam is now having to tender. I hope they don’t do that on my cruise in a few weeks. The berth schedule shows the Eurodam where the NA is right now. I wonder why they changed it.
  6. Does HAL release the full daily planners on the Navigator prior to sailing? Or will they just come available day of?
  7. Mine has it and I don’t have any post cruise transfers.
  8. I honestly was not impressed with the inside passage. I prefer coming back on the outside. I know it feels upsetting but I do feel this is fair compensation. I missed my absolute favorite port last time, Sitka, and came the inside passage home. I was so upset and disappointed. I LOVE sitka and the inside passage was really disappointing. No compensation for us but I also didn’t expect it. There are many cruise lines who wouldn’t have provided any compensation for something like this. im sorry again that you were disappointed. ❤️
  9. This likely would be super helpful if people actually followed the instructions and port staff enforced it. However, we all know people will still arrive whenever they want and it sounds like it’s not being enforced. Alas, this likely will have very minimal impact. I’m also curious, given four and five star, NS, PS and also OC all get priority. That has be a good chunk of the ship right? Is there priority within the priority does anyone know? Like the stars, NS and PS board before CO? I know those with mobility issues are priority as well. I don’t care really as long as I’m on the ship eventually. But it just makes me wonder how much of a “priority” it actually is at this point.
  10. I just checked mine for my cruise in June and it has it on it too. So I don’t think CO has any impact.
  11. thank you so much!!! This helps and makes so much more sense to me now. Thank you!
  12. Ok, thank you, I was getting confused, everyone was making it sound like you could access all of them to know when the formal nights were. I am able to see them due to reasons outside of being a passenger but wanted to check. Thank you for explaining.
  13. im like the other person, I only see a sample menu. The only place I see where I can see any menu is if I go to the MDR in the app Dining & drinks, there is only one menu there each for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know this menu is not accurate for my cruise. if I go into the itinerary/dailies it doesn’t show anything yet. Am I looking in the wrong place? My cruise is just a month out. I was starting to wonder if you don’t have access until on the ship until I’ve heard everyone else in here. Hrm
  14. This is how I feel as well! I never understand when people want others to have less. Someone else having laundry service doesn't impact if other 4* individuals have it as well. How they earn it should be no ones business. For others, Should it also be only for people who pay the highest amount? Should ALL discounts be excluded? Feel free to get upset if you don't receive the incentives you are promised, but maybe just focus on that and enjoying your cruise. The stars should be to give you perks, not something used to make yourself feel superior to others. We're all cruising to have a great time! Let's all just have a great time!
  15. For Alaska, HAL is certified that only FRESH, local, and sustainable seafood is served on the ship everywhere. They were very proud and loud to announce that. I don’t believe it applies to any other regions.
  16. It’s a Dutch line, not Irish. They would have zero obligation to address any colors that other countries might find offensive. Frankly I find it silly that anyone would feel a line would have to accommodate something that MIGHT potentially offend the Irish. Despite them being able to know it has to do with Dutch heritage and NOTHING to do with the Irish. I feel like you are digging in hopes of some kind of argument. I may not be Irish but I have Irish heritage and will be wearing an orange dress. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  17. Better to book early. My personal experience for excursions for my 2024 Alaska cruise was the prices increasing over time. The zipline increased almost $50 per person after just a month listed. so definitely buy what you want right away. They can sell out pretty quick too depending on the excursions. No Black Friday sale on these.
  18. Also, be aware that the priority is only for check in and boarding. There is no priority line for security, everyone is in the same line for that in Seattle. I know you said boarding, but just wanted it to be clear.
  19. I'm glad you learned this and now know HAL isn't for you. I'm not sure the reason for your post as it's been discussed here. Are you just wanting to announce that you are dissatisfied and won't use HAL? I don't mean that to be snarky, but genuine. There are plenty of reasons I don't choose other lines that I feel HAL is better for. There are different locations where I am likely to use a different line rather than HAL. Everyone has different preferences and yours don't align with HAL. For most people in this forum we are here because it does meet ours. I hope you have an amazing cruise no matter the line you go through!
  20. I've always prefer Starboard side for Alaska, hands down.

Ok, it seems you are confused, I was trying to clarify. Here you go: - A poster mentioned following someone around to collect evidence - Someone else mentioned that would be harrassment and could cause legal issues - You asked for facts/refrences on what "legal issues" were - I explained that this poster was specifically addressing the post stating following around someone to collect evidence. Please explain what I was "gleeful" about. I'm not sure what you think I did here. But you are really making a stretch. I simply offered an explaination that seems to really upset you and I'm truly not sure why

Frankly, do people have nothing else to do on a cruise than stock people looking for evidence, exposing themselves even more to a dog they seem to have such a problem with. What a sad life to live if that is how someone feels they need to spend their vacation. I'm so happy I can enjoy my vacations while minding my own buisness. As someone with an invisible disability I can state that I have encountered MASSIVE amounts of harassment and judgment from people. Including demands that i have to prove to them why I need a handicap parking permit, or why someone who looks so young gets wheelchair accessibility assistance at airports. Because they think I'm healthy and just lazy. Do people abuse the permits? Absolutely, but I shouldn't be questioned and put through that trauma just because they feel nosey and entitled to police rules that have zero impact on them. Trying to create additional restrictions causes more harm to those who are legitimate than the ones abusing it and lying. The last thing we need is to make things even more difficult for those who are disabled. Life is hard enough already. Additionally, the cruiseline, at least if abiding by US or many EU rules can get in a HUGE amount of trouble if they demand anything further than just asking if it's a service dog and the task it performed. If they tried to ask anything else and it went to court there is a high chance they would lose due to breaking that law and opening them up for discrimination. So please, if they aren't directly bothering you. If they didn't pee on you, or bark, or do anything wrong, just let it go and enjoy your cruise. If for some reason it causes an actual negative impact or harm (beyond just not liking seeing the dog or feeling it's unfair) then report it! Otherwise just let it go.

Their comment was pretty clear. If you were to continually follow someone around a ship it absolutely can be considered harassment and the person being followed could try to pursue legal action if they wanted. If someone was following me, not matter the reason, I would feel scared and threatened and likely immediately go to cruise staff explaining it as such. I am certain the cruise ship would not side with the individual who is making assumptions and wanting to follow someone around.

I honestly I hope they wouldn’t tell you. It’s really none of your business and not your place to know. You can def report it if you see something wrong. But you’re not entitled to someone else’s personal info.

For as much as people may judge and keep it internal I hope no one says anything to the individual. While I agree, there is ZERO reason for a true service dog to be in a stroller. That is clearly a violation but it's still no one elses business except for HAL. Be upset with them. There is NO required paperwork or "registration" for a service dog. This doesn't exisit. Which means there are no "official" service dog vests. Even individuals with true working service dogs tend to just purchase their own unless the trainers provided it for them. Service dogs must be trained for a specific task to assist with a disability or need for the individual and be well trained and well minded in order to qualify as as service dog. As someone else said legally you can only ask if it is a service animal and what task it performs. It's illegal to ask or demand anything else. Only dogs can be service animals at this time. Anything outside of a dog can be an emotional support animal but NOT a service animal. So we don't need silly statements as though horses are suddenly going to be ones as well. Service animals can go every, including locations with food. Someone disability doesn't suddenly disappear. Yes, this is unfortunate for those with allergies, but this is true for EVERYWHERE. If you go to a local restaurant, if you are in the US, you have a risk of a service animal being in there. The most anyone can and should do is report any concerns to the staff. Don't expect anything to change. People do abuse it and the ability for companies to "verify" a service dog is limited so it will never be easy to do without creating barriers for disabled individuals to get the service animals they need.
