  1. Always puzzled by Viking's decision not to price in the gratuities. Like a few hundred bucks will make a material difference to anyone's decision when booking a $10k+ cruise.
  2. This was my first Viking cruise, so can't answer your question first-hand. Based on what I'd read on CC, the depth & width are the same as the rest of DV and V cabins. You'll get a bit more "leg room" as the bottom of the glass railing angles out, creating the illusion of a deeper balcony.
  3. You're welcome! Yes, GoPro mounted on a mini-tripod with extension.
  4. OP stated privacy and space as the primary reasons of selecting a 2-bedroom cabin. While a YC cabin is an upgrade as far as onboard experience is concerned, it's a major downgrade on both privacy and space. An analogy I can think of is that you are a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) and signed a lease for a 2-bedroom apartment. Then on move-in date, you found out the management company "upgraded" you to a penthouse studio at no additional cost. Is that really an "upgrade"?
  5. Just received this promo today for December 2022 oceans: https://www.viking.com/promotions/us/ocean/AFA22/20220812?contid=3647&utm_id=email_vrc.54514482&cid=EML|RSP|999|vrc.54514482&utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_content=55presale Promo code AFA22
  6. Based on CDC's passenger numbers, it appears that way. I remember our 2018 Seaside cruise in the Caribbean, over half of the ship were Europeans and we loved it. We loved it so much, we booked a 2019 Mediterranean cruise on Fantasia. English wasn't even the most spoken language on that cruise. Loved, loved that cruise in the Med. Total immersion experience.
  7. Wow. That's an amazing deal! I thought at under $800 with taxes for a balcony cabin was a decent deal. 😅 See you onboard!
  8. Thanks, Ate! Seems that MSC is struggling to fill the Divina while RCI has been sailing Independence of the Seas at 100%.
  9. Resurrecting this thread... How full has MSC ships been recently?
  10. Agreed. Just use your hotel address for check-in purposes.
  11. Thanks guys. I decided to play the MSC Phone Agent lottery! On my first call, the agent said to make this request onboard. He should've stopped there and I would have dropped it. However, he went on and said he could process the request but MSC will charge a fee to make this request. Imagine my incredulous reaction. I pressed him by asking how much would the fee be. He started saying the fee is dynamic; it could be $30, $40 or $50. By that time I knew he knows nothing (surprisingly his name wasn't Jon) and was just throwing BS around so he doesn't have to do the work (or he doesn't know how and doesn't want to say it). Promptly hung up the phone at that point for round 2! Second call, the agent said no problem. Took care of my request in a minute and wished me a good afternoon. No BS, no fees. Just excellent service. I spent more time going through the phone menus to get to her. It's almost 3 years since my last MSC cruise, and their landside operations are still inconsistent. At least there's little to no wait time when I called.
  12. Got that right! 😁 March 2022. Cabin 4122.
  13. So we just booked 2 Fantastica cabins on the Divina for the Labor Day weekend. Although this would be our 3rd MSC cruise, this will be our first MSC cruise with fixed dining time and assigned table. My family is fairly private (or socially awkward) and prefer to keep to ourselves. That said, is it possible to request a 4-top table so we are not sharing a table with others? Wondering if I should call MSC now, or make this request once onboard. The reservations are linked and we don't have drink packages.
  14. 5+5 on all cruises are nice, but I'll miss the 5+15 offers. Value for money, YC at 5+15 is a bargain. YC at 5+5 is only average. At some YC fares MSC is charging now, I'd book something on Viking for not much more.
