To book with a casino discount....You NEED to book through the casino department !

Not true.  My TA gets me the casino discount.  And of recently, if you have a fully comped cruise you can now book online.

We are going on our first Alaska cruise in July. We have done several from Florida and we live on east coast and drive to the port. So in the past we could bring a few extra things. We have always travelled with a fan as the noise is something we have gotten used to and we bring a travel fan, not too big but not tiny either. One time we did see someone bring on a full box fan. We have also typically all brought our own pillows and sometimes even a light blanket.

I know none of these are needed, but obviously we are flying to Alaska and are going to still try to at least bring the fan. Pillows and blanket may not make it. Does anyone else travel with a fan? The noise really does help us sleep.

Any other oddities that people have brought with them? Just curious as I'm sure we are not the only ones that like their fan and pillows, LOL

And I do know that Princess has for the most part comfortable beds and pillows, just creatures of habit I guess.

I have an app on my phone that makes fan sounds.

That would depend in which islands you are visiting and more importantly which way the coasts of the beaches you want to go to face.

Mostly concerned with Roatan. Beach is on the north end of the island.

  4. Anyone who has sailed the last couple weeks in the Caribbean...Are you seeing any effects of the Sargassum that is working it's way across the Atlantic?  I'll be on the CB in a couple of weeks and have some beach days planned and curious what it is like.  I have asked in the specific port boards but not having any luck.

For 2025?  We are on the Sky November TA for 2024.

Yes 2025. 2024 we're doing Barcelona to Southampton then spending a week in London.  Then we're going to Hawaii for 2 weeks in November. We're doing a Celebrity TA this November.  Working hard to maintain my status with Delta.

  6. I'm going in 2 weeks on the CB and expect it to be packed.  I have no plans to get off the ship as I've been to these ports many times.  On port days I plan to have breakfast in my cabin, go to the fitness center and be at the pool late morning. I like to get up early also.  I don't know if I'll go to the MDR, if I do it'll be later.  I'm debating what time to get to the ship as I really really like the shrimp avocado salad that is only served that day.  Since it's a VIP casino cruise and I have a lot of OBC, I imagine I'll be in the casino on sea days.  I'm cruising solo for the first time so I'm looking forward to doing what I want to do when I want to do it.

I ordered the breakfast for the cabin, however, I could not find out when they delivered it.  I need it at 5:30 am one morning.  Does anyone have any info on that?

Yes if you're in a suite.  Otherwise not before 6-6:30 and no telling when it will come in that 30 minutes,

I have just put a hold on a club class mini suite on the Majestic, for a 14 day cruise Sydney-South Pacific in January - taking advantage of a $99 deposit, low price deal that is being advertised this week on the Princess website. The cabin I have a hold on is Marina deck, M107 which is at the front of the ship with a huge deck.  Given the lack of the sanctuary, I thought that this deck would be a good substitute.  However, I haven't been able to find any videos or photos of these mini suites on the Majestic and I am wondering what the deck furniture is like = do they have the hold teak loungers, or is it the new modern seats with ottomans.  Does anyone have any contemporary knowledge?

I don't know 100% but I've only ever seen teak furniture in a full suite

  9. I find the website to be fine.  A heckuva lot easier than Celebrity.  To find your bookings all you have to do is go to booked guests and then access your personalizer.. everything you need is there

Well, I think I was truly cursed this cruise. In all my Princess cruises, this had to be our worst for issues, too many to list, but we made the most of it, as you do, but disappointing. The Sapphire was the first Princess ship we ever sailed on, so a bit sad so much went wrong for us but so glad everyone else on this thread had a great cruise.

And we did have excellent weather!!!

Disembarkation was the most organized we've ever seen in Vancouver, despite there being two other ships in. But on the last morning our toilet flooded which was crappy (excuse the pun) so we had to leave early to use other facilities. And now, despite wearing a mask indoors the whole time and on the ferry home, I have covid for the first time ever (sigh).

There must have been a lot of turnover on the Sapphire when it went into drydock.  I got off an 18 day cruise last month on her and it was one of the best cruises ever.  Sorry to hear yours wasn't that way.   I've been reading horror stories about Vancouver.  Doing a RT there in September, hope they get their act together.
