In July on the Jupiter we found it easier to book a table for 6 than a table for 4. (Once aboard) And then we just asked someone new to join us!

Following... But if they don't I'll just request extra hangers and hang more things than usual. Also... I pack lightly as far as make up and such... so usually keep my undergarments in the drawer in the loo.

This is a question for Viking. They do send you a schedule with your invoice that includes you list of ports and arrival and departure times. That might help.

Also don't miss the pool grill! I had the fancy hot dog with the shrimp and it was terrific. I balked at first... but then decided to give it a whirl... after all if I don't like it I can just get something else! That's life on a cruise!

YES! I love that risotto with the escargot. It is not usually mentioned in reviews. And of course that chocolate dessert is divine. I know everyone loves the special steak than Manfredi's serves but I found it way to peppery for me. I can't wait to have that risotto again when I sail to the Panama Canal in January.

Sometimes live TV works and sometimes it doesn't. I just marveled that it was available at all! There are movies to watch... some influenced by your itinerary, others recent releases or old favorites. If you use the search function here, I'll bet you can find a list of channels. Movies will change over time. AsI recall, there seemed to be an awful lot of sports channels. And the TV does more than TV and Movies. All the lectures and port talks can be viewed, either live or when they are uploaded later. And there is a selection of music channels as well. The TV also lets you view your account, make dinner reservations, and book treatments at the spa. You can see where the ship is on a map and their is a bridge cam that lets you see what is in front of the ship. Which is fun to watch when your getting dresses in the morning as you are pulling into port. AND YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO VIEW THE SAFETY VIDEO.

I know they are going as fast as they can and they have a generous budget....

January 4-18 😀 I’m probably following your roll call for tips! Hope you’ll post lots of them!

I've put this question up on the board for Florida Ports... but I know this group is very knowlegable, helpful, and fast at answering so... When I get off the Viking Star in Florida after enjoying my Fort Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale Panama Canal Cruise... How big a hassle should I imagine customs to be? I am on my own for getting to the airport and I'm worried it will take to long in customs to make it to a mid morning flight... but that means I have to wait till late afternoon. What do all you seasoned folks think? Thank you!

I'm new to cruising our of Ft Lauderdale... or anywhere in the USA frankly... I'm concerned with disembarking and having to go through customs and getting to the airport on time. Can you tell me what that process is like? (I'm going to be cruising with Viking.) Will be disembarking on January 18 and will need to get my own transportation to the FLL airport. Thank you!!!

I’m just going to sit here with a glass of champagne chuckling to myself rejoicing in some recent current event. And that’s all I’m going to say about that! Ha!

I’ll enjoy booking early since half the fun is the anticipation and planning! And we don’t give each other big gifts so we often find a little way to celebrate special occasions with a small gift to remind us of the upcoming adventure. Books, bag tags, a meal at a restaurant with the cuisine of the country we will be visiting… Have fun!

The balloon ride is a bucket list item of mine... Please do it until I can!

BLUE LAGOON - July 18, 2022 We had 5:15pm flights out of Keflavik Airport and had to disembark the Viking Jupiter that morning. So we treated our selves to an upgrade at the Blue Lagoon and checked into "The Retreat Spa" at 8am. The upgrade includes a secluded lagoon area. You are not the only one there... but at 8am we were almost the only ones there! It also includeds your own changing room for 5 hours which was divine! We just kept our luggage with us. And we got to experience the Blue Lagoon Ritual, various scrubs and lotions and potions in a special order. Your skin will feel like butter when you are done. We hung out in the fireplace lounge with a drink for a while then got dressed and had a lovely lunch before heading out to the airport. They arranged for a taxi that met us in their hotel lobby. All went very smoothly. If only the spa experience could be AFTER you check in and navigate security and passport checks. The airport experience is a real buzz kill. I'd still do it again in a heart beat. And my husband LOVED it too!

I've actually been to visit a friend in Provence! I stayed in Apt. Only drove through Aix. Will take that advice! The picnic excursion sounds lovely!

Is this for the Iconic Mediterranean Cruise? I’ve booked that for Nov. 2023… so will follow this with interest…
