You’ll need to probably get off and get back on after you do your passport stuff. They will let you on first with Ps, the suites, and key people. You’ll be invited to lunch, when we did it we dined once with the people that had purchased The Key, but not sure if every ship is the same. on a TA on Odyssey we had a special lunch in Solarium Bistro.

I need to join that…..we’re taking our first Silversea next June! Wer very excited! have you booked it yet?

Odyssey is our favorite ship! We’re doing our third TA on it in November! Can’t wait.

We cruise a lot and have been on ships where the food was absolutely horrible, almost inedible. And we’ve been on ships where the food was very very good. Yes, the menus are boring and monotonous to those that cruise often, but that doesn’t explain why some are good and others are awful. So I surmised that the difference is mostly due to the chef that’s on that particular ship. For example, We just got off Adventure last week and the food in WJ, MDR, and specialty places was excellent. So I made sure I spoke to the chef to tell him that. And earlier this year we cruised on Radiance and it was the worst food on any ship we’ve ever had. I spoke to the chef a couple of times just to let him know. It was really bad. I also make sure to mention my comments on the food on the survey both good and bad. But bottom line, you won’t starve and there’s plenty to eat.

When we were on Adventure last week, our balcony was on the port side of the dock in San Juan. We wanted to watch the sail away. So we waited and waited, and they took up all the ramps but one and we realized they must be waiting for someone. Only an officer and security guard were there at the end of the ramp. The officer made a phone call (probably to the guests) and they came running down the gangway a few minutes later. Everyone heckled and clapped as they got on board. We have on many occasions witnessed the pier runners in Cozumel, and even once years ago saw two young men actually carrying a young lady that appeared to be unconscious, probably very drunk. One had her under his arms and the other had her feet. I can only imagine she had an awful night after that.

Sometimes I ask if I can use the sanitizer they also have at the wash station. I’m one of those people that you see at the electronic wash stations trying to get the soap and water to come out and it never does. Most times I try the wash station, but if it’s too annoying, I just use the sanitizer

I came here to say the same thing. The couple of times I cancelled a cruise, I went into the cruise planner and cancelled any purchase first.

I agree 100% which I get because IMO their plan was to get rid of the Pinnacles from Royal that cruise often, to make room for the young families that spend more $$ in 3 or 4 days that they’re trying to lure on to the mega ships. They had to do something so the D+ don’t feel left out, but the perks we get from Royal far outweigh what we’ll get from X. It would be nice if Royal would add another level for those that are high D+, it’s a very long way to Pinnacle.

darn…..we were on the actual Pacific Princess in 2002, the last summer it was in service from NY to Bermuda. BEST CRUISE EVER! Sorry I didn’t get a love boat hat! I would wear it proudly 😁

If we were Pinnacle I would also be thrilled. And my thoughts are that Royal’s principal reason in making this change was to hope that more high level cruisers will move to X and then they will get more revenue from families with kids doing the short cruises. They probably would spend more buying wifi, drink packages and so on. I did think since there are lots of D+ that they would also love to see us move because we also get plenty of good benefits.

And just the opposite for us D+. The 5 drinks I get on Royal are enough for me, but more important is I’m not limited nearly as what X would offer if I only used the free drink list. so I’m our case, we will be spending more. Much better deal for the elite and elite + to come to Royal

I totally agree! Not even close to what we get in Royal. If they want to push us out like they want with Ps, they should do better.

One last question (I promise) Is the classic Beverage package the same as what you posted for the drinks from 5-7? sorry, but we’ve never been on X yet, but have 5 booked….👍

The upcoming cruises we have booked on X, we have premium package, BUT since we’re only Elite Plus with our status, just how bad is the nightly Happy Hour? What made it a sick joke? Crappy choices, slow bar service? I wish they would just do like a royal and allow 5 drinks. I remember back when we had to go to the D lounge to get the drinks….that was awful.

We’re on Apex to Norway in August 25, and Ascent in Nov 25…… DH is starting to balk at me booking cruises, so Ill have to wait to think of that. Do you know if this is a temporary thing to be in PC?
