  1. I sure hope so, that will definitely encourage us to book X then. 👍
  2. We’re on Apex to Norway in August 25, and Ascent in Nov 25…… DH is starting to balk at me booking cruises, so Ill have to wait to think of that. Do you know if this is a temporary thing to be in PC?
  3. Wait….when is Apex coming to PC? I’m really behind it seems.
  4. We also have been straying from Royal, have 5 booked with X, one with Silversea. never been on either yet, but very excited to cruise them. Royal was always comfortable, but it’s becoming uncomfortable now on the large ships,
  5. I don’t know that, we only were cruising Royal at that time. It would make sense though.
  6. I don’t want to hijack this thread, but thought I’d add that we did an Arctic crossing on Royal in September 2022 to Iceland, Greenland and the Arctic circle. We didn’t even bring an insulated jacket, instead dressed in layers. Most days temps were 40s, maybe up to 50. The key for me was I have a fairly light rain jacket that nothing can get through, so the very windy and cold day we had when we cruised Prins Christian Sund in Greenland, everyone - including most of the staff on the ship - was on the top deck for the views. The rubber jacket blocked all wind. If it was very chilly, I wore a light thermal shirt tucked into my pants, a light sweater and the rubber rain jacket. I was warm as toast, and we live in Florida and used to scorching temps, not cold. And by the way, if you’ve never seen Prins Christian Sund in Greenland, it’s a sight to see! which is why we’re so excited to cruise the Norwegian Fjords next August.
  7. We haven’t booked any flights yet, but which airport do you recommend and pre cruise hotel and ride to port? We’ve never been to Southampton to cruise yet, we’ve mostly flown to Rome.
  8. I just found this thread and I’m excited to read it all, we have Apex booked next August to. Norway in an Infinite Balcony and this will be our first Celebrity (of many booked now). Is International Friends the name of a company you used for your visit to Windsor? I also was wondering about the pre-cruise Stonehenge trip, we reserved the post cruise excursion there from Celebrity which will drop us off at the airport after. We plan to stay that night and fly home the following day. I just started reading so I may have more questions…. Thanks for this post!
  9. When they did the double points deals after the shutdown, many took advantage to move up, and now royal is left with a lot of D+ and Ps along with all the perks of those levels. It makes much more sense to shift part of this new burden to X to allow space for the families that tend to spend more on WiFi and beverage pkg.
  10. So do we, and even longer since we’ve only booked Celebrity recently.
  11. I agree, although we have a few X cruises booked that already has the drinks and wifi included, it would be nice to have the same amenities as we get on Royal. I think pinnacles made out better.
  12. We did this on enchantment many years ago because we had an Oasis cruise booked when it was brand new and wanted to go in the D lounge.
  13. When we get home from Adventure I’m going to make celebrity and royal same PW. Hope that works. Thanks.
  14. That’s where I looked. I still can’t get in either site without creating a new password each time, so I’ve been using the app only.
  15. My celebrity status is showing Elite+ now too! So who has a list of what the benefits are? We’re on Adventure now on a sea day and internet isn’t that great to try to find it.
  16. I see in my post I meant to say how thick the humidity is…. i guess I see how you can get used to it, I lived for 17 years a couple of miles away from where Grumman tested all their jets over and over and over. We would hear (and see) the F14s and A6 jets doing all the fancy very cool maneuvers and they were so loud things on the walls shook and we had to stop conversations until they flew past. We also got used to that. We also were near the Grucci fireworks factory and would see and hear their fireworks tests. Unfortunately when their facility blew up, everything fell off the walls. It was sad.
  17. Wow, you’re very close. We’re far enough away that we can hear the fireworks but that depends on how think the humidity is……does it get annoying after awhile?
  18. I also LOVE Mamma Mia and will miss it too. It’s my favorite show of all the ships. I agree with your post, I was just curious to hear the reasons, mine are the same. For me I see each cruise line differently, just as in everything else. Cars, houses, clothes, countries, food, etc. all good but each one can be vastly different. Some cruiselines or cruise ships I don’t want to ever try, and others I love…..Royal being one.😁 enjoy mamma Mia while you can.
  19. I usually hang mine from the ceiling on a hook by the A/C vent. I bring shirts that after washing, doing a dance on the shirt wrapped in a towel, and hanging by the vent it dries very quickly. I use the fan at night. We love that fan!
  20. I bring a small all plastic USB desk fan on every cruise. It’s totally plastic…..in a box. I would cry if they took it away.
  21. Well to be fair, in Italy wine is thought of almost like water. In fact when I was very little when we would go to my grandparents for holidays (or anytime) the kids all sat at a small table in the kitchen, and we were all given a small glass of grandpas homemade wine. I thought it was awful. I remember it was purple. I hated it. But we all had to drink it. I agree…Gotta love Italians.
  22. yes I had an organic garden for over 20 years, so I’ve seen many types of bugs. What happened to me in Key West wasn’t from a bug. I should have gone to a doctor, it lasted weeks.
  23. I rarely ever eat meat, only occasionally chicken, so I wouldn’t even go near most of the breakfast foods, especially sausage and bacon which don’t agree with me. But reading some of these comments about salads makes me say EEK, well then, what’s left for me to eat 😳 breakfast for me is usually smoked salmon, a piece of cheese and some fresh fruit. I eat this every day when I’m on a ship.
  24. When I read this I looked in what I call my cruise “pharmacy bag” and sure enough I also have Imodium. Plus pills for if you can’t go…. I pretty much have everything. My DH says, packing for a cruise is easy…for him it is. Until he got sick last year on a TA and said do we have cold meds….i said, well I do, did you bring any 😁. He got the hint. But of course he used them all.
