  1. At least you get time to reflect on your purchaseπŸ˜‚
  2. Always good to see positive comments on here, if you think about it it doesn't take much to keep people happy, just some little things can make all the difference πŸ˜ƒ
  3. Was the £734 for the room or the whole hotel!!!🀣🀣🀣🀣
  4. Have nothing against the bigger ships ,its just they need to appeal to families to fill them ,and with that comes obvious problems, but we enjoyed Iona as a ship ,it was some of the pax that were the issue, we have Arcadia , Aurora, Azura and Arcadia as our next P and O cruises, so the majority are adults only
  5. We certainly do not , every other day is more like it so that's good enough for us on the ship, just leave them hung in the bathroom and there dry by the morning , second day they go in the shower tray for the steward to replace . even my ocd other half can manage to get two days out of the towels
  6. So the P and O IT system does work then? When it suits themπŸ’°
  7. We have "slummed it " in a number of premier inns and as long as the room is clean (which up to now they have been) its just somewhere to sleep and shower ,the rest we can do without, however fully appreciate that everyone is different
  8. Would be interested to hear how you get along as apart from a Nile cruise its something we've never done but are looking at for 2024, Budapest/Vienna
  9. Especially without a hankie 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣
  10. We could spend a fortnight on Iona BUT it would have to be somewhere warmer and absolutely well out of school holidays and the weeks either side of them ,and without the bargain bucket prices. Still feel one pool should be adults only (probably the Infiniti) as inflatables are not suited to that area, a lovely ship but its becoming tainted by all the problems with its destination
  11. Agree the cruise experience is cruising , however that no longer brings in the income that is required, hence the new (relatively) fun palaces , it makes you wonder how many attention grabbing attractions, can be fitted to the new breed of ships throughout the industry. P and O appear to be trying to do both at the same time and as good as the two new ships are they will never compete with Carnival NCL or RC for the facilities on board
  12. And don't appear to have the docking problems?
  13. Its not so much Iona its the fiasco of missing ports on a weekly basis, we were not so lucky as to receive Β£100 for missed destinations as we were taken to another non descript port which had no resemblance to a fjord , also you were fortunate to have a sunny day to lounge out , as the weather is so changeable in that part of the world, as I mentioned earlier we would cruise on Iona again but Norway is a definite no no on her, its just not fit for the destination and its unrealistic to expect passengers to accept the mystery tour instead of what they have paid for
  14. Saw ours on the stair wells as a pair cleaning and sanitizing the handrails etc, that's another area where we keep our hands to ourselves, but good on them for trying to keep things hygienic πŸ‘
  15. To be perfectly honest I cannot remember ever using the tea or coffee facilities in any of our cabins on any cruise ,were never in it , and if anybody knows my other half they will tell you that the steward may as well not come into our cabin, its kept just as our house is, they must love ours as five minutes and its done , apart from towel and bedding changes , our travelling companions even told the last one not to bother as they had done all that needed doing that day ( he did still go in ). As for P and O telling lies would agree they bend the truth to breaking point, in lots of areas
  16. We did see our steward on other cleaning duties at some pointsπŸ‘
  17. Think we can do without the chocolates on the bed , never short of food on a cruise ship, with regards to the lack of turndown we just leave the bedside lights on when we go out for the evening and pulling a cover back before getting into bed is something we do every night at home, these are two things we haven't missed whatsoever
  18. As all our buying females are Yorkshire born and bred they had done their research before buying their bags on board , no interest to me but I knew they would not overpay for something!!!!!!
  19. Since having the solar system fitted we have literally become eco warriors with our electricity usage, and try and avoid using the grid as much as we canπŸ˜ƒ
  20. Yes we consider ourselves to be fortunate, and as you suggest some budget trimming will need to come into play if things continue to spiral, however if you have no slack in your budget this winter is going to be extremely difficult, if not impossible for millions of people
  21. That's good to see , the only problem , more so on the bigger ships is the staff needed to police it, and the willpower of the company to back them up
  22. Thank you familycruiser for that information, from what we have been told not all smart meters are the same and apparently the one which was to be fitted at our property did not have the capacity to display when solar was been used/generated, that is what our provider told us but not sure if its correct
  23. Probably fit them all in a telephone box πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
