  1. I’ve got the code WATER6PK on my invoice and I expect to see it in my room, unfortunately I can’t stand water, so I’ll be happily handing them out to others in my travelling party 🙂
  2. Jayszzzsus chroiiiist… is this for real…??! I’m scared about making my 1 PM outta Miami on the 25th
  3. If you’re an NCL passenger on their app trying to call another NCL passenger on their app, a notification should pop up on their phone saying “incoming call from…”. Then they can answer it and talk to you. the NCL app isn’t just messenging, it’s calls too
  4. So, as I understand it, the reason the “loophole” exists on iMessage is because there is an overlap between the technical requirements for notifications via the Apple Push Notification System and iMessage notifications to function. I have heard that in order for the NCL app to properly work on iPhones and give notifications, iMessage also has to work. Sad that this bug doesn’t work consistently the way it should though - I would rather pay the $10 and know it works constantly, than have to shift between iMessage and NCL. in the olden days, NCL notifications used to work flawlessly 😞 not sure why they haven’t fixed this. NCL Isn’t the only cruise line with notification issues, I’ve seen the problem on other line’s ships. one other workaround for the issue if you have the NCL messaging package, is to actually place a CALL through the NCL app to your recipient. call notifications seem to work consistently.
  5. On a 12 day cruise to the Panama Canal, I prepurchased Mexican pesos, columbian pesos and Costa rican dollars before I left Canada and I consider it a sign of respect to use local currency where possible while also getting slightly better deals at the shops and restaurants. Of course, those currencies are associated with major land countries, island currencies are harder to find. I understand most places accept USD though.
  6. Some people really are not impressed with the free coffee around the ship for some reason, but it’s still cheaper to pay for the occasional Starbucks black coffee than get the package.
  7. Has the NCL app messaging notification situation not improved AT ALL? still totally broken? Intermittent? What?
  8. No more virtual muster drills? When did that change?
  9. Dam.. bunch of BS changes as usual from NCL lately. Any news if it is happening on the blass yet? Sailing in a month.
  10. Is this thread for real or just roomours and typical cruise critics fear monggering. I haven’t seen a formal announcement made about it in any correspondence to passengers, just what I’m reading on here.
  11. If I bring my docs with the upgrade info and they have a porthole veranda available it won’t hurt to ask, I think. I am new to celebrity and usually I find when you sail on a cruise line for the first time, they go to bat for you 🙂
  12. Exactly…thank you. I don’t even think the moveup allows for them to place you in an upgraded subcategory within the larger category. I think That is why moveup allows you to bid very specifically on what you want… I hope my agent can resolve but I am not holding my breath bc I think he feels I’m being upgraded, I am sensing this may end up going to chargeback… I have all documentation saying what my upgrade was to, etc etc. I will wait until day of boarding to see if I can resolve at check in or customer service and deal with chargeback when I’m home.
  13. Porthole view with VERANDA, see attached photo… not just the window 🙂 I wouldn’t dare pay $420 for a window haha.
  14. I want the feeling of a real outside balcony with a separate glass door and not a roll-down window. I don’t mind the infinites over an interior, but I wouldn’t have paid $420 for it.
  15. On the overcharge, yes the agent said they’ll reverse the 87.50
  16. I just heard back from the TA, he said the IV is considered an upgrade. I told him I’m not accepting it and I guess the battle begins. I am not paying $420 for a “sliding window”
  17. Thanks… I don’t feel the IV is worth the $420, the porthole was what I wanted, so I’m all or nothing on it. does it actually say somewhere in moveup terms and conditions that they are “entitled” to move you to a higher category if your won-bid category wasn’t available? That seems suspect to me. For example if someone bids on a sunset veranda and then gets whatever celebrity considers a “higher class cabin”, that’s a pretty big change in what ya asked for eh?! I know with other cruise lines, bidding on categories is usually a lot more general and they DO reserve the right to place you in any kind of cabin within your won category, but celebrity’s bid system specifically listed the types of subcategories within each category to bid on…
  18. Thanks for that. I won’t budge, I just dunno who is to resolve it, my agent or celebrity. I was interior and I bid on porthole veranda and they put me in an infinite. I specifically bid on porthole and sunset because I wanted a sliding door balcony. I guess they consider infinite an “upgrade” over porthole but I won’t take it for that price. if they wanna keep me in an infinite free, I’ll take it, but I don’t consider it an upgrade, I would absolutely take my $420 and stay interior. That’s a lot of cash for a solo and in Canadian dollars.
  19. Hey all. I just had the same issue. I am a single passenger who won an upgrade totalling $420 (210x2). I was billed an extra 87.50 on top of the $420. I am only one pax. Not sure what to do. On top of that, they didn’t assign me an upgraded cabin until a week later and when they did, it was the wrong class. trying to resolve the cabin issue with my agent, not sure what I’ll do about the overbilling. I def will NOT be OK with OBC as I already have OBC and don’t spend money on board.
  20. I’m 3 weeks out from a sailing and got a porthole balcony upgrade accepted. It said I’ll find out shortly what cabin I was assigned. I still haven’t seen the update on my file this week. How long does it usually take, or do they only assign it right before sailing?
  21. Just realized the subject line should read: DILEMMA. 😱 surprised No one caught that yet
  22. How did it work when it came to charging you last minute? Was this a line on board or off the ship?
  23. I think this is the rumour I was thinking of, but I heard you have to take OBC. I am hoping someone can confirm this rumour
  24. Thanks for that @msk64 i feel like I remember reading a rumour about “they credit your onboard account” if you cancel less than 48 hours prior on board. BUT!!! If you cancel over 48 hours prior, I heard they refund to the original credit card if it is a prepaid excursion. Does anyone know the validity of this rumour? I searched for it but couldn’t find it. Either way I am good with an OBC because I do plan on doing a little bit of spending. It’s only a $40 excursion. But I still wanna make sure I cancel somewhat on time if I have to
