  1. Hi everyone. I’m here to vent for just a bit. For a company that claims to be so IT savvy, their tech sucks. I’m currently booked on two voyages - one in November and one in December. On the website I can see them both, but I can only see the November sailing on the app. On the website you can’t do any of the check in stuff. Have to do it on the app, but it’s not there for the December voyage. There’s also issues with bar tabs and sailor loot not showing, but I have emails saying that we have it. We’re also having trouble navigating both the app and the website. I get somewhere then can’t figure out how to get back to it. Specifically, finding the Add-ins on the website. Even getting to your account isn’t easy. It’s all very frustrating and we consider ourselves rather tech savvy. I think they’re trying to be too cute. Why can’t they just have everything in one place? As has been said many times here, I tried to call. Endless waits. Tried to chat and no agents available, I sent an email. We’ll see if there’s any response. Anyone else have similar frustrations? At first I thought it was just me not being used to the site, now I’m convinced it’s not just me. It sucks. I just want to know what I have, when I’m checking in and what else I need to do. Doesn’t seem that hard, but it’s virtually impossible.
  2. It used to be that if you were in a studio you could not upgrade. They changed that around six months ago. congrats on your upgrade!
  3. I don’t think you’re allowed to bring your own coffeemaker. If you are in the Haven I’m sure they will bring you one of the cheaper coffeemakers from the “lesser” rooms if you prefer. They are basic one cup makers that use the flat pods. The coffee isn’t great, but you can bring your own pods. If you’re not in the Haven your steward will bring you one if you want it. personally I’d prefer the Nespresso. I have one at home and love that little machine. But they won’t give you one unless you’re in the Haven. 😒
  4. Everyone else is right. Call CAS. I also don’t play heavily, but I’ve gotten several “free” inside cabins, which I’ve paid to upgrade very reasonably. I have never gotten past the first tier on their program. Even if they can’t give you a “free” cruise they can usually give you a discount. It’s been 20% for me. I now have my own “guy” at CAS and he’s done well by me. I have his direct line and he’s very responsive. There are some other perks if you book through CAS as well, like a dedicated check in line and free drinks in the casino bar, including bottled water. On my last trip they also sent little treats to my cabin just about every day. It’s worth the call.
  5. Thanks. It’s incredibly frustrating. I had gotten an email with flights in the middle of July. The booking numbers are not being recognized by AA. I called NCL at the time and was told it was a mistake, I didn’t have a reservation. This morning the connections showed up on my account, but no details. Called NCL and got the same booking numbers as the July email. They still don’t work. Been on hold several times this morning and keep getting cut off. I don’t know if I have a reservation or not. Sigh.
  6. Hi everyone. I’ve been anxiously awaiting our air arrangements for our September 6 sailing. This morning the summary page on NCL.com has our connections, but no reservation numbers or times. I haven’t gotten an email with the details and can’t find the details of the booking anywhere. I can’t look on AA.com without a booking number or ticket number. Is this normal? How long does it take to get the details or is there some hidden button I can use to find it on NCL’s website?
  7. Interesting. I’m not sure how that site works, but I was able to book two comped cruises - an inside with Virgin and a mini suite with RCL - based on an inside comp I had with NCL. A friend who has status with several lines and has worked with URComped for years (she told me about it) was denied the Virgin cruise. I don’t get it. I don’t spend a fortune in the casino, but was able to do this. I think it’s one of those situations where we just don’t know the algorithms, but I’ll take what they offer me.
  8. I do think NCL is getting stingier with their comps. I was on back to backs in April for a total of 11 nights. I know I played more on that trip than the previous October’s B2B where I earned a comped inside. But my CAS guy said I didn’t earn a comp, but he could give me 20% off another booking. I passed. A few weeks later I got a “scratch off” in the mail from CAS where I “hit the jackpot” and won a free 4-10 night cruise, so I booked the Canada cruise in September with it and upgraded to a balcony. All that being said, I used that scratch off to sign up with another site and have now booked comped cabins in November on RCCL and Virgin. It includes some perks, like free drinks in the casino. I haven’t been on RCCL for decades and have never been on Virgin. We’re looking forward to trying them out.
  9. Nope on the Joy out of NY to NE and Canada. Our flights are even more confusing because we’re flying out of two different airports. My friend is flying from DC. 45 minute flights every hour and they put on a 10 PM flight. Frustrating. Hoping the actual flights are better.
  10. It’s all very confusing. I’m sailing out on September 6 and last week I got an email from NCL with my flights. Similar situation - a 10PM flight home. The email had confirmation numbers and everything, but it never showed on NCL.com and AA.com didn’t recognize the confirmation number. I talked to NCL (had no trouble getting a representative). She was very confused. Nothing showed in her system. She told me that someone was probably just “playing around” with options and hit the “send” button by mistake. I’m hoping the actual flights are better. If they’re not, I certainly hope AA will work with me. I’m Platinum on AA. Worse comes to worse I can do a same day flight change at no charge.
  11. Not a bad thought. Need to think about it. We’re on a ten night on the Joy on September 6. Would love to be in the Haven.
  12. I agree with others that say it’s really what you’re looking for, and most importantly, how much are you going to drink? For us, it’s a no-brainer. We easily drink more than two drinks a day, starting with a Bloody Mary or mimosa at breakfast. It pays for itself very quickly. But if you don’t drink, or drink very little, you’re probably better off without it.
  13. This is a peeve of mine. I’d love to bid for an upgrade to a basic cabin in the Haven, but I’m traveling with a friend. We really want our own beds. We’ll stick with our balcony cabin.
  14. Hi there. I haven’t been on RCCL in a very long time. We’ve been sailing NCL for the last several years and always get the beverage package as a perk. For $20/day it’s a no brained. My husband and I got a “free” Jr. Suite for a 4 night sailing on the Independence in November through a casino offer and I’m debating whether to buy the beverage package. I tend to drink more alcohol than my husband and really like my specialty coffees. I think it will be worth it for me, but not for my husband. Do we both have to buy the package?
  15. I submitted mine on the 8th, followed up yesterday. It’s still not posted. There doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason here.
  16. Yup. I understand how the airlines work. Just want to see what the Platinum desk can do for us. It doesn’t matter now anyway since it turns out nothing is booked. I do know at a minimum I can make a same day flight change for no charge. We’ll see what happens.
  17. Quoting my own post. I called NCL. I have no air reservations yet. Apparently someone was working on it and pushed the button and the email came to me, but the flights were not booked. We don’t leave until September 5. She said it likely won’t be for another few weeks. That (kind of) explains why AA didn’t recognize the reservation number. Hopefully the next set of reservations will be better than what I thought they put us on! We’re only going to NY with multiple flights every day. Why make us stick around NYC until 10PM on debarkation day? LOL
  18. We got the email with our flights last night, but they haven’t shown up in my account with NCL. The confirmation numbers are also not recognized by American Airlines. I really don’t like the return flights and want to work with AA to change them (I have status with AA). Does anyone know how long it takes to get this all to sync?
  19. Thank you! I just sent a note to my casino guy. We’d much rather be on this than the five nighter!
  20. I have a stupid question. Where exactly on the app or the website does this show up? How long does it take. A friend booked using my link earlier today and I’m not seeing anything.
  21. Thank you all! At least we have some answers. Will keep following it.
  22. Thanks! It’s so bizarre. I’ll let you know what I hear tomorrow.
  23. Good suggestion. I know it’s RT from Miami, but that’s all I know. LOL
