For most restaurants booking for 2 works-it doesn’t work at Teppanyaki and any restaurants where they charge per diner. Every specialty that charges a la carte you can book for 2 and there won’t be any issues. There aren’t any tables for 1 anyhow.

If you are using the dining plan just book those with charges first. If not, you can call to book and they will only charge you for one.

  2. Getaway was last in dry dock in 2019 (the one they dropped the last two days and two port stops a week before we sailed) so 2023 is a bit early. It seems no schedule is safe at this point. I’m booked on the last Prima cruise in September 2023 and I don’t  think I can stand one more cancellation!

NCL won't arrange from/to Gatwick I wouldn't have thought.   So easy by direct train to Southampton.

I used the NCL transfer from Southampton to Gatwick after my last transatlantic in 2019. It was simple and easy.

  4. As long as they don’t smell like they just slopped the hogs, it’s all good with me. One of the nicest people I ever met on a ship invited me to their birthday party at Cagney’s and wore his Haven bathrobe to the event.

  5. You’ve brought back a happy memory. Bubbles were a big deal at the sail away party on my one Disney cruise years ago. Kids and adults had fun with them on the pool deck. I’ve never seen them on NCL.

Ah, thanks for the info about the ladder.  Very good to know!

How deep is it, or how deep is it where the ladder is, and how far down does the ladder go?

And do you happen to remember if the ladder rungs are narrow diameter pipe type, or perhaps something a bit flattened, wider?

It has been awhile. I remember it being maybe waist deep. The ladder was thin wood slats. It may have been upgraded since I was there. The first step was just high enough to cause pain!

Great!  Is it as warm as "a hot tub" (which can vary, of course, but they do tend to be really warm).

A hot tub in the locker room?  Bleh.

But that's not an issue for us here, as we'd want to be poaching together. 😉

    Many thanks.

It is warm but not steaming hot. Just a tip for those with creaky knees, there is a ladder but no steps into the pool.

Was just going to ask the same question.  I sent in 2 requests on 1/21 for 2 cruises, both to Mexico.  One was processed the next day, crickets on the other.  The processed request was for an April cruise, the missing one is also in a couple of weeks.  I originally thought maybe they thought I'd sent duplicate requests so I sent in another request on Sunday - still nothing, other than the autoreply with a case #.

Contact them. I submitted two and they ignored the second one. They fixed it as soon as I resubmitted the second one.

  9. I’m booked on the Spirit Hawaii to Alaska in June. I got the  Extraordinary Journeys brochure the other day and it is no longer listed. October 3 is there but nothing for June.

I’ve been having the same thoughts as the OP. Final payment is due in February and I’m solo in a balcony. It is a hefty “interest free loan” to wait for a refund if NCL cancels later.

Those Pearl, and the Jewel class ship mini suite (Club Balcony), and suites bathroom tubs were a product of an era when guests were much smaller...and even then the tubs were pretty small.  Much like the chairs throughout the ships being replaced with larger ones not long before the Covid shutdown, those tubs probably would not accommodate many of the guests any more.  And, to even shower you had step over the very tall edges of them to enter.  I always wondered how many people fell getting in and out.  They just weren't a very good design idea.

I was happy  have a spa pass on the Gem. The tub walls in the then mini suite I booked were insurmountable for me.

I just booked Up, Up & Away Helium Balloon Ride for 1 adult & 1 child (granddaughter 10) & a Voom Surf Internet for 1 device for $108.  I am happy!  I wasn't going to get an internet package but DH is staying home & son is coming with me.  He has medical issues so I will be checking on him through email daily for our peace of mind.  My son & granddaughter will be sailing with me on 6/17/22 on Oasis.  It will be her first cruise & his first on a cruise ship (he was in the Navy).

How long will this sale last?  I think I read for a couple of days?  I want to tell my DS so he can order any excursions he might be interested in.

    It ends tomorrow night.
