For most restaurants booking for 2 works-it doesn’t work at Teppanyaki and any restaurants where they charge per diner. Every specialty that charges a la carte you can book for 2 and there won’t be any issues. There aren’t any tables for 1 anyhow. 

If you are using the dining plan just book those with charges first. If not, you can call to book and they will only charge you for one.

On another cruise line, transatlantic cruise, the large Chinese group parked the older people in their wheelchairs at every buffet window table. They would come and go, play cards and hold every table.

Getaway was last in dry dock in 2019 (the one they dropped the last two days and two port stops a week before we sailed) so 2023 is a bit early. It seems no schedule is safe at this point. I’m booked on the last Prima cruise in September 2023 and I don’t  think I can stand one more cancellation!

This solo traveler very much appreciates the freedom to eat alone in specialty restaurants or anywhere other than the MDR. I’ve met many friendly people but never want to be assigned tables or dinner times.

I used the NCL transfer from Southampton to Gatwick after my last transatlantic in 2019. It was simple and easy.

Unless you want to enjoy all of the music and not just muffle sound. There is a good reason for better ear plugs.

I’ve been watching these prices too. Having one ship out of Boston creates more demand I guess. Everything is more expensive now but those prices are way out of line. Even without the cost of airfare and a hotel night I can’t justify the cost solo. Maybe last minute will work. I can drive to the pier in 20 minutes.

I always ask for the fridge to be emptied. On my last two cruises they just put all the items in a desk drawer or that storage/seat thing. I tip at the beginning and end.

It took an act of Congress to get an exemption to the foreign port requirement last year. 

Per an ambassador in the FB group, they are free and heading to port for a damage inspection.

As long as they don’t smell like they just slopped the hogs, it’s all good with me. One of the nicest people I ever met on a ship invited me to their birthday party at Cagney’s and wore his Haven bathrobe to the event. 

After five NCL cruises I have only been in a main dining room twice, on the first cruise. That was enough. I buy extra specialty meals and enjoy the relatively quiet dinner buffet when I need a break from long multi-course meals. The Local is a nice change too.

You’ve brought back a happy memory. Bubbles were a big deal at the sail away party on my one Disney cruise years ago. Kids and adults had fun with them on the pool deck. I’ve never seen them on NCL.

I save them to paint over and use for small art journals. No sense wasting a booklet.

It has been awhile. I remember it being maybe waist deep. The ladder was thin wood slats. It may have been upgraded since I was there. The first step was just high enough to cause pain!

It is warm but not steaming hot. Just a tip for those with creaky knees, there is a ladder but no steps into the pool.

Contact them. I submitted two and they ignored the second one. They fixed it as soon as I resubmitted the second one.

I’m booked on the Spirit Hawaii to Alaska in June. I got the  Extraordinary Journeys brochure the other day and it is no longer listed. October 3 is there but nothing for June.

I’ve been having the same thoughts as the OP. Final payment is due in February and I’m solo in a balcony. It is a hefty “interest free loan” to wait for a refund if NCL cancels later.

I cancelled and rebooked a few items today to get the Black Friday discount. The refund will be credited back to the card I originally used to book them.
