    Thank you all. I have booked. The problem is I just woke up to my reservation.And my agent has to be flagged to budapest instead of absterdam which is where I wanted the deviation to be. Has anyone experienced having to change arrival cities with viking?

    I guess they like to be safe than sorry. I can sleep on the plane. I'm just hoping it will be direct flight to LA.

    I will most likely be taking the Viking transfer from Passau to the airport. So I.m assuming it Munich approx. 3 hours away?

    Hello, trying to make a quick decision on weather to do Viking in July from either Budapest or Passau. I will probably stay one or two nights pre cruise & fly home the day I depart. Which city would you fly in to &stay & why? I am solo female & like old, basic historical type hotels & use public transportation

    What is the drink package? I can't find any details. Also, did you do their air? I am told the Basel airport is not always where you fly in to?

    Thanks. I found a flash sale with free air & premium drink package for $4525,00 in July for 7 nights. I will check out others before I book.

    If you get their air, they will fly you in the day before cruise with no air deviation? How do the transfers work then? They wouldn't pick you up at your hotel, would they?

    I'm looking at the Amsterdam to Basel River cruise this summer and will be travelling alone. How is Viking for solo travelers? Do they have tables for dinner where you can join others?

    I am new to Viking & am looking at a cruise in July. Do excursions get booked up this close to sailing? Especially the free ones?

    I'm new to Viking & am looking at a Basel to Amsterdam with a deviation on both sides. Air is free in July but I understand the deviation is $100. Is that on both ends or just one deviation charge? Do they give you the flights or do you get any choice?

    A couple of points: I am in the service industry & I have gotten stiffed because someone was unhappy about something that was out of my control and I thought the DSC is only an incentive program, not actual money going to the crew ( crew parties, days off etc)

    Exactly! If they have the pie there, why don't they offer it in the dining room or buffet?

    I ordered the one with the key lime pie & said hold everything except the pie. They gave me a few cubes of pie in the sundae glass

    ABSOLUTELY! It's just something to add the list of "benefits". My DH will not touch them. I get the ice cream since I am paying for it in the package. I'm sure no one gets 2 a day.

    I second that! On the Discovery last month they would let you have cake, the huge sundaes or scoops of Vanilla or chocolate gelato.

    I was on a cruise once where I was on a waiting list & got the tour. I think it was because there were so many waitlisted that they put another tour on

    We eat in the dining room every night. We do not do specialty dining or buffet. And we dress for dinner.
