We have been checking for months for shore excursions at our port of call in Rome. No excursions showed. Finally called today and they sent a list of excursions. Not all were available but I am glad I called. No reason as to why the excursions did not show as available on our booking. It was the only port that we had an issue

Questions regarding Transfer Civitavecchia → FCO

Ditto this! It is not a relaxing way to end a holiday. -
New Zealand Explorer cruise perspective
SkystheLimit replied to Irishgael's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Quite a few of these bookings are still FCC. Our long time travel agent tried to move a booking for us that would have increased their revenue but the cruise line was not budging--it was to a cruise further out. TA stated that the cruise lines are not at all flexible as they might have been before the pandemic. The cruise lines with the exception of a couple borrowed heavily and the payments are crippling. -
New Zealand Explorer cruise perspective

The cruise lines are still bleeding money including Regent. The compensations of the past will not happen. As for the NZ scenario, that happened to several vessels. Seems the problem might lie with the NZ officials and their approach. Sad that so many vendors in NZ lost so much revenue while struggling to survive after the pandemic. -
Is a 10:10 am flight leaving Barcelona doable in October?
SkystheLimit replied to HBLm3's topic in Celebrity Cruises
"No" as others have said. BCN is a great city that you can see a lot of in a day. Enjoy it and take a flight the next day. And, I would definitely look at nonstops back to the States instead of connecting in London or elsewhere. -
Interesting thing about catfish is that whatever they are fed they take on that flavor. We have friends that have a huge catfish operation. Feeding bananas yields great protein for baby food, etc. that tastes like bananas.

Have really enjoyed your review. We want to see the "Blue" island of Madeira when the all of the hydrangeas are in bloom. MSC offers a great itinerary(only one of a couple for that time of year) that we would never have considered except for your review of YC. We aren't Zenith with Celebrity but getting there so we have been loyal to Celebrity. Thank you for opening our eyes to another cruise line's options on an itinerary we really want to do.

Awful State of Ocean View Cafe for dinner
SkystheLimit replied to Arubamoose's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity is so concerned about savings. I just saw a video of the new room service menu and the order form. The fill in the blank order form that is only used once per order must have cost a fortune to print for the entire fleet. Hope LLP and management can turn this ship around. Not looking good if this is their idea of savings. -

Two different ships size wise. We love Azamara but don't find the Owner's Suites to be in the best location particularly in rough seas. The few Club Spa Suites are quite nice. Have not sailed on the Marina. We did enjoy the Riviera but the "vibe" is completely different on Oceania than Azamara. You will not find a more genuinely caring staff and crew than on Azamara!

There is "smart" and there is "common sense". Seems the two don't often go hand in hand in the business world. -

Probably because their one included tour is usually a walking tour. -

Celebrity is in the midst of a management crisis. These are not remotely acceptable decisions for dining options if the reports are true. -
Yes, it was the Equinox Greek Isles RT from Rome. I found it in my travel diary today. Thank you for your info.

Hi Lois, We did a Godfather tour on Sicily many years ago on a Celebrity cruise. Have followed your reviews as we are looking for alternatives for cruising. We so enjoyed Russ as a cruise director on Azamara several years ago. Does he still do a solo act show? Do you have a favorite SS ship? Thanks. MJ

Anyone Currently on Explorer?
SkystheLimit replied to Trunkabella's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Unbelievable that this situation is still going on for so many ships in or trying to enter NZ. Either the government officials/inspectors are impossible to please or the government recommended diving contractors are incompetent. So, it appears to be a governments issue one way or the other. Very sad that so many are inconvenienced and that many tour operators in NZ are suffering losses that they can not afford. -
Ah, the Cozumel sprint! Many years ago my husband did it. We rented a half of a VW Bug along with another couple. I was the designated driver. Circumnavigated the beautiful island while they drank. Arrived back at the rental car place and I left them there. They decided they needed to bring on one the many wandering dogs that were slowly following them. Ship's officer at the gangway not happy! Your reviews are so fun and your dresses are fabulous! Thank you for sharing.

This is definitely a NZ authority issue. Too many ships with complete and repeated disruption. Hopefully, the many tour operators in NZ will convey their disappointment to officials at so much lost revenue in these very difficult recovery times. Truly sorry for everyone on all of the ships that did not get to enjoy all that NZ has to offer including her lovely citizens. -
Thanks for reporting. It is sad that the choices keep diminishing. We noticed it 6 months ago on the Equinox but not so drastic.
